NEED ADVICE: Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas

Wanting to plan a trip in April for somewhere nice. Was thinking Atlantis Paradise Island Bahamas..

Anyone been there before? Im just throwing this idea from out of my ass casue I see it on TV all the time.. I have no idea if its any good or if April is a good or bad time to go..

Anyone been there? And is this an ok time of year to go?

Any other suggestions for this time of year? Dont really want to be where a lot of kids and drunk teens are, just want to get away to somewhere nice, fun and relaxing.

Its either this place or some Island in Hawaii. Want a nice beach some snorkeling and just chillin and laying out..

Jamaca? Mexico? Where ands whats nice in April for the wife and I to go?

I need to plan something this week.

Anywhere else good for April??

I dont want to spend the cash and the time in planning if there is a risk of the weather being shitty.

I need that famous Boneprone "LOCK" or sure bet that the weather that time of year is good.

Aruba has the most amazing weather all year round. It never has a shitty day.

The best hotels there are the Hyatt and the Marriot... best casinos in both of these two hotels.

I 've stayed in all the towers so I would say go for the Royal Towers, they are further away from the beach but nicer than the Beach and Coral Towers.

To avoid loud families, just take note of where you chose to hang out, some spots are prone to have more screaming kids than others.

Tons of places to go snorkeling near by, make sure you go over a coral reef you get to see a lot more, and watch for sharks! lol

Wow, I remember staying at the royal towers... the walk was just incredibly far to the beach. If anything bro, I would book the towers closest to the beach.

Snorkeling and scuba diving are everywhere.

Who there saw that big fish in the water tunnel? I'll bet it's still in the same place....

Don't remember which tower I stayed in ... it faced the pools and beach I think!

There's tons of water sports and shit!

Swim with the dolphins, man - snorkle, parasail ... and so much more to do!

GO!

Lost at the casino myself, but WTF - I HAD A BLAST!

Fuckin' waterslide with the sharks and shit was SICK ... totally fuckin SICK!!! It felt like I was FLYING through the air straight down! You'll see what I mean if you go!

It's in the carribean... I don't think it's very far from the bahamas. I've been to both places multiple times and always enjoyed Aruba more...

That will work.

Yeah, me too!

I've been living in San Diego since April ...

3 months ago I renewed the membership I haven't use in two years (I still haven't gone back yet) ... and now it looks like I'm closing on a new house in LA and moving back again!

LOL

What a racket those gyms are!

Hmmm $1K better I dunno... QUITE a walk to the beach, like 10 min. Was a 15 min walk from the Beach Towers to the gym behind the Royal Towers, it's a frikkin big place that's for sure!

Check the weather for hurricanes, not sure when it's safe to go. It's only ever been crazy 10 min bouts of rain whenever I've been, I was there once just after a hurricane that is when you get the best weather.

Ahh cool..

Lycos search got me this info!!

Caribbean

The Caribbean generally has good weather all year, although hurricane season (June ? November) can wreck a vacation so it?s safer to go outside that time. It?s most crowded during the winter, mainly because people are trying to escape the winter in the US, not necessarily because it?s nicer at the islands.

Best times to go are between January and May, with May our overall favorite month.

More information on when to go: Aruba, Bahamas, Bermuda, Jamaica, US Virgin Islands

Atlantis is alright. Its definitely nice, but its overpriced. You can find MUCH better deals elsewhere in the Caribbean. I have to recommend that you check out the Dominican Republic, they have some SERIOUS all inclusive resorts there (Im talking all food, alcohol - top shelf at that -, lots of free watersports, good snorkling right off the beach and the option to take really cool excursions). Check out the Iberostar resorts there, I think there are two. I was at Hacienda Dominicus, fucking paradise, swim up bar, the whole nine yards. I would take this vacation any day of the week over Atlantis. I would be happy to answer any questions you have about the D.R. if you have any....

It is nice, but VERY PRICY if you stay in a nice room in the nice tower. No comps in the casino unless you are BIG player. The food was disappointing. Do not think I would go back. I am a VERY picky traveler.

Check out the Ocean Club right next door, thats where all the celebs are staying now when they go there.

Check out cabo, lasventanas.com . I was there 2 weekends ago, again. Also would be a much shorter flight for you.

In april think we are going to key west.

I was at Atlantis 2 years ago but just passed through. the area is great. The town is sort of BS but the snorkeling and all that other stuff is right there and fun. Is it all inclusive? I was just at oen where the booze was included. i did not know that existed but it was very cool.
