It was created by a Russian dude and belonged to the Russian government. Then the fall of communism happened and he got the rights back to his creation and made some cash off of it finally.
Not sure what else there is to the story. I know the Tetris company sent me a C&D for my Tetris fan site back in 1998 AFTER one of their company reps contacted me for a link trade. I had top spots in all the engines for Tetris and was getting tons of uniques but not doing anything commercial with the traffic. I took the site down anyway...didn't want to promote their product if they were going to be asses about it. |
