New NIN supposed to be coming out this summer too, allegedly...

About time. It's been... what, 5 years since Fragile?

yeah.. dont expect too much from it tho...

TDS was brilliant.. in many many many ways. Marketing, recording,
music.. everything 99% perfect.

Fragile was just OK.. even excellent considering all the other stuff
bands bring out these days but still.. no magic.

With Reznor's laterst remixes and his latest album you can
hear them repeating the same trick behind the NIN sound
over and over again. You even detect the nin trick in the remix i just posted. Gets boring after a while.

I own every halo, Even the box set, Im not sure what you mean by the NIN "trick" all of his albums were good for different reasons.

BTW this song kinda sucks and the bitrate is too low.

Yeah, I picked up on a little of that sound on the track. It is admittedly starting to get a bit worn, but of course knowing reznor there'll be around 829374923 different mixes of the thing. At least one of them has the chance of being fresh... and lets face it, that sound is part of the reason why we listen.

In the meantime, I'll hold out hope. Having had the misfortune of experiencing the slow degredation of music from the 60s til now, I won't hold my breath.

Still, even the 80s had its bright spots. Some good music will have to come out somewhere, even if it is hard to find amongst the seas of n*suck clones.

A. the lyrics.. "im a 40 year old milionaire and so fucking depressed" gets worn out after 15 years of music making.
And the latest "still" album has so many open doors hes kicking..

B. the chords: if youre into music on the technical level.. Nin uses
about 5-10 different chords and thats it basicly. Different sounds,
different smaple structures but it's all template music ;)

Dont get me wrong.. till two years back i used to listen at least
3-4 hours a day to nin.. and yes. i have basicly every halo myself its GREAT working music and made shitloads of cash on it..

that pretty much sums it up.. I was a little disapointed in fragile as well. Sounds like a weird request but I hope at some point he does a bunch of atmospheric stuff like "a warm place".. i wouldn't mind an EP of that after he plays himself out of the same old.

30s, but when you have hippies for parents you get inundated with a comprehensive range of good music as a child. Used to play Tea for the Tillerman to help me get to sleep when I was a toddler.

Reznor Rocks

Anyone know where I can get a copy of The Perfect Drug that actually features the single associated with the music vid rather than one of the many remixes?
