pretty fucked up shut methinks. i remember as a kid seeing that army footage showing pigs roasted alive as part of a-bomb experiments...the flesh of pigs apparently is similar to that of humans. gave me nightmares that did.

free range lol..I used to work at a commercial poultry farm in highschool. Free range is 20,000 chickens in a room about 30'x30'. "Range" makes people think of vast open spaces, no. Chickens never see daylight except through windows.
They're packed in so tight that if you lose power, even in winter the fans shut off, within 8 hours or so, the chickens will actually start to cook, that's how hot it gets.

Well the other birds they've been killing all over Asia didn't have such a painless ending either.

Tens of millions of birds of all kinds just tossed alive in trash can size plastic bags, then taped tight put out in the hot sun so they'd just bake and sophicate to death. Some were still alive in the bags by the time the bags got to the dump because they managed to poke air holes with their beaks. But the dump trucks were just dumping them down into big pits and then burying them alive.

Not a good month to be a bird in the Orient.

I hope to god they don't burn the pigs alive. That will really be horrific.
