I don't think it's life threating..... but I am no doc... I just play one on camera

Switch from coke to heroin and it should go just fine. Heroin's way better than coke anyway IMHO.

Anyway I know my mom had one years and years ago. Never really heard anything more about it. It can't be that bad.

Murmurs are very common and rarely a problem. However, you could die from it at any second so make sure your affairs are in order. Most deaths are within 2 to 3 weeks of the initial diagnosis. If you can survive that long you should be okay.

heart murmurs are usually pretty benign, not something to freak out about. but i'm not doctor, my sister was told she had one, but she was given nothing for it, years later she mentioned it to a new doctor she went to and the doctor said she had no murmur.

Actually I'm now pretty much at the 101 and 7th Street. Haven't really been a poster here since I moved and never really noticed that either.

Yeah it's never good to find out something could be seriously wrong. Been about 2 years since I found what I assumed was cancer in my testicle. I'm the kind of person who ignores problems until they're big but it never progressed. Actually kinda just went away. I'm sure yours will just be like that.

I figure if they were to worried abot it when they did the echocardiogram today and they saw something bad they would have sent me right away ..... I mean they would love to get more money from me being as I have to pay cash for everything.... the doc told me not to worry about it... and sent me to get the echo... then within a week I should have the results from that.... all it really is is a leaky valve or one that don't close all the way....

some times those murmurs or irregular heartbeats are pretty elusive. they show up one time and then a week later they are gone. get the full medical workout from your specialist.

I have a slight murmur and I have never experienced any problems really.
The only thing you have to worry about is if you go to the dentist or have surgery of some kind. You have to tell them that you have a murmur. If the dentist pulls out a tooth or something else that will cause a lot of blood..... mess. They will give you some Penicillin I think it is, because your heart has a higher risk of getting an infection.

My sister has a bigger murmur and she can't exercise for more than couple of minutes before she's about to puke and has a major cramp. Kinda sucks.

Yeah, a year and a half ago i had this *skipping a beat* thing going on (pardon my specific medical lingo) that was freaking me out.. i did some tests with my doc.. came out as nothing... gave me a preventive med, Atelonol (to atenuate my blood pressure.. not that it was high, just as a profilactic) and i was good to go after a couple of weeks.

I was born with a heart defect. You have to be very careful about taking any type of stimulant like cocaine, caffeine, or ephedrine, among others. They put undue stress on the heart.

I'm sure your Dr will go over everything for you. Is he sending you to a Cardiologist for a consultation?

no he said it was very slight .... he said the stethascopes are to good now a days... he said 20 years ago they would not have even heard it... he sent me to get a echocardiogram to see how bad it is really... but he told me not to worry at all... but when you hear heart anything you worry know what I mean..... my grandfather has had one since 1974 in the arorta and he is still alive... my grandmother was born with one.... maybe I have had it all my life and did not know... I do do coke... I barley drink coca cola... mostly sprite... I do smoke ciggys... but trying to quit... I have recently quit smoking the ganj... so hopefully I will live a full and normal life.....
