Deal with webmasters for customer service?

About 90% of the people I get to deal with for customer service (Me doing the servicing) are using AOL. I thought most webmasters would be past the whole AOL thing? Or am I missing something? Do they offer some great service that I might have overlooked?

Sure we all act like big players, but a cable modem is secretly our wet dream.

Yah, they spam you each and everytime you sign on. I created an account to chat the other night and every time I've signed on since, I have a new email from AOL.

They also tend to get stumped over the things that nobody else does either. Maybe I should just redirect AOL addresses to another content store.

I had AOHELL once. They are so full of shit. Their service sucks, they owe me money and of all the customer service situations I've had to deal with, it's always the AOL people that can't figure shit out. AOL breeds stupidity.

There are a couple benefits of AOL.

One, if you've been with AOL for years and years and years, you are probably sticking with them just to keep your old @aol e-mail address that 1,000 of your business contacts have.

Two, if you travel, your AOL account travels with you. This has become less important now that most hotels offer Internet service.

Shouldn't a person have a website, or a domain or something at least to be buying content?

Why can't they have a real email address? Or are these just aol people buying some jerk off material?

I used to have them just to connect via my cable modem and it was $9.95 a month. Now it's like, $14.95 or some shit.
