Webmasters there is another thing to consider, companies signing up with Acacia are going to lost traffic, business and have an extra expense.

Plus this is getting to be a hard business, with no room for fools and mistakes.

Do you really want to deal with someone who may go belly up?

Who cares if a company settles?

It's not your business, nobody knows what is going on inside the company...

Fighting another company/person even if it's not expensive takes has a MAJOR effect on the production of the company.

You start pulling the owners/creators away from the sites/program and company and the net profits start slip super fucking fast.

Then if they keep fighting, month after month.. 10-30k of your net gone (20k+ just to show up to court or discoveries each time) it really rips the company apart. Even more so on small staffed companies or ones where the owner is the main brain/webmaster.

Learn before you open your mouths. I don't like the idea that people settle, but I sure as hell understand why they do and I would never hold it agaisnt a company owner for making a business choice that could have saved his company rather than killed it.

I bet 99% of the people on this board would settle with them if they got sued by acacia.

TheDoc has a good point but when a moron starts pushing it in your face it has to be put down.

The problem with this industry is the lack of unity. If everyone had come together to fight this, Acacia would be dead in the water. But too few were willing to step up to the line. And I do not include posting on a message board as stepping up.

And if nobody fights wqe are fucked, even the guys that sign up. Because more and more companies with BS patents will be knocking on our doors for their share.

When I say our doors I really mena US doors, becasue I do not see this BS traveling.

The tactfulness of many companies needs work

Unity is hard when at the end of the day nobody trusts each other but yet will trade joins and share some random semi-good secrets.

At the end of the day we are all just another business, not unlike the non-adult world. Everyone is worried and their is still a shit load of what ifs with no real answers.

Some did join together, some have givin money while others stand by and watch and hope they arn't seen. It's a war and like all wars shit gets fucked up and people get lost.

We all hope that the main fighting group wins and saves us all, other wise the only ones safe are the people that did settle. Yep it sucks but it's just the way shit is, in porn and every other type of business in the world...
