Puts on Asbestos Suit: Lurking Newbie with Linklist Questions
Ok, I have been looking over this site in detail over the past month or so, debating on getting into some of the adult sector. I have been, yes, the quinetessential lurker, I admit it.
With that in mind, I thought of perhaps getting my feet wet and looking at starting up a few link lists. I know, sounds weak, but as I am a coder by trade, and not a graphic artist I figured I would at least pose a few questions and see what kind of feedback you guys would offer: 1. Does anyone actually use something like CSS in the page layout? Essentially the biggest ones out there seem to be just text all over, with a few pictures. They sort of drive me nuts, and I was wondering if it was just me, or is that the best approach? 2. To start out with a link list, what is the best way to start getting traffic to it? I have looked over a lot of sites like VNRW and Adult Webmasters, and generally noone talks about Link Lists much, mainly TGP's. But then everyone speaks quite highly about the Hun and Jays (appropriately so) which are basically links lists too. 3. Is there value to starting with Link Lists as opposed to TGP's? I mean the game is after all traffic, and from my reading it sounds like decent link lists are a relatively decent way to go isn't it at first? 3. Finally, is it wiser to emulate the Hun and Jay's in so far as volume of links? Or more targetted niche style lists? Granted the overall size of the list is smaller in focused niche types of links lists, but then you can expand as needed, essentially like Jays has. I guess, the main thing I am getting at, should someone start a link list without getting into TGP's and the sort first? Any comments are appreciated, even the usual GFY Howdy ![]() Thanks in advance |

Nah scrap the whole link list . You should really start a TGP Thats where the real money is. Later start the link list to feed your TGP and you will be rolling in the dough

Well, I have done some reading. I am not a code noob. Been coding for years. So I know all to well the RTFM .. which I have been trying to do really.
And yes, I understand the TGP issue, perhaps that is right, but I am more interested right now in the traffic side of things oddly enough. I know I will have to at some point do the TGP Route as well. I am just seeing what the best options are for starting out for now and then move as I get the hand of it. Thanks ![]() |

I personally would rather have a link list site than a TGP. The reason I say this is, bc I have seen the ratios of these link lists guys and search engine traffic is such GOLD.
ICQ me if you have any questions. |

Well if you're looking at setting up a link list you want to design one with a focus on getting ranked well with search engines imho. The amount of traffic you actually get coming in from the buttons/links on other peoples sites is fairly small in comparison to what your own link list site pages on the se's can pull in so text/links are important in that regard.
