Which car do you like for $40-80k? [pics]

I am officially shopping for a new car... There are a few photos below of cars i`m considering and my price range is $40k - $80k.

I just want a car that is both comfortable and professional, for the wide variety of trips that I make all over california and for regular daily driving.

I`ve owned a bunch of cars, including the first CTS, the Corvette c5, BMW m3, Tahoe, & GrandPrix GTP.

I am considering the newer Cadillac CTS, newer m3, and possibly ordering the new c6 in May, but I may do this in addition to whatever I decide from this thread. There are a few others that i`ve not test driven yet, and some I have listed below.

If anyone has suggestions plases post pics and information!

Here are some pics, but I have to put them in two messages.

<img src="http://www.axzo.com/gfy/c6.jpg" border=1 bordercolor=#FF6600><br><br>
<img src="http://www.axzo.com/gfy/amg.jpg" border=1 bordercolor=#FF6600><br><br>
<img src="http://www.axzo.com/gfy/audi.jpg" border=1 bordercolor=#FF6600><br><br>

Please keep this going so we can see whats popular & useful. Especially if you own a car that you suggest.

The Corvette... unless you also the option to get a E-Class.

Let me think... never mind... The Vette!

The red one. The rest will make you look like a corporate slave... well, except for the hummer, which will make you look like a 'tard.

Honestly dude I would suggest the new Audi RS6, it's just a sick, sick car! 450 Hp fastest sedan in the world! Alternatively the new AMG is pretty sweet as well!

My personal choice would be a Nissan Skyline. Those cars fucking rock. Anyway, out of those cars, I'd choose a BMW or a Corvette.

Because, for some reason, I think a four door is better for what I need, even though its not the best looking to most people. But your car does look very good.

Lots of points for the m3. I was going to order it last year, but there was a 7 month wait, so I got the CTS. I really liked the one I drove at the dealer last year. [ a year old, I wanted it new ].

The BMW M3.

The quickest car (dunno about the Corvette), with style.

You want a sweet ride that's 4 doors and you won't see alot of people rolling then go for an Audi A8 they start at about $70k and it's fucking sweet as can be.

I think I saw something like this on the freeway once, always wondered what it was, now I know. That gets another half a vote from me. Tough to decide.

If anyone wants a few pictures of that corvette you can download them here:

A friend sent me all of them, not a bad looking car, but like all others, it takes getting used to.

Agreed, that mercedes looks damn good for a cruiser from here to LA or something.

The Land Rover is cool - but totally defeats my purposes.

in that price range i would buy a used MB "S" Class, long wheelbase, this would save the big hit of new car depreciation.

maybe like a 2000-2001 model.

but i wouldn't buy it in california, (or any luxury import) i'd go to a state where the values for that model are soft and buy a lease return knowing that a car like that has probably not been abused and probably dealer maintained.

then a few years later i would sell it in a hot resale market for that model putting ads in SF Examiner or LA Times to return highest dollar figure.

if you do that correctly, and sell every 2 years or so only buying models that hold their value you can almost drive free.

Fortunately I don`t have to worry about the cash enough to plan a sophisticated thing like that. But it sounds good.

If you've got 80k sitting around, talk to Motorex in california, they'll import a nissan skyline for about that price. Plus, its got plenty of aftermarket support, and the market isnt saturated with em, so people wont just laugh and look the other way when you drive by. 280hp twin turbo's.

Then again, I'm a skyline nutcase, no one here has ever heard of them. Greatest japanese car ever made in my opinion.

Goofy looking and AWD?

The supra is a hog.. What's the difference between a 500 hp supra and a 800 hp supra? They both run a 11 second quarter mile.

Skyline will pull anything off the line because its got AWD...
What model do you think is goofy looking? r32? 33? 34? To me, their styled to look muscular, and succeed at it.

Besides, I've seen plenty of supra's around here. I'd take skyline over the supra for the simple fact that noone here has ever seen one. I'd also keep it stock on the exterior, because as far as im concerned, it looks as good is it ever will.
