For real it's all about that A8, did you look at the site and the multimedia system they have set up on that shit. It's sweet, they call it MMI I believe.

Since you've had fast, go with the AMG or M3 :)

uptheyingyang 02-01-2004 05:01 PM

in that price range i would buy a used MB "S" Class, long wheelbase, this would save the big hit of new car depreciation.

maybe like a 2000-2001 model.

but i wouldn't buy it in california, (or any luxury import) i'd go to a state where the values for that model are soft and buy a lease return knowing that a car like that has probably not been abused and probably dealer maintained.

then a few years later i would sell it in a hot resale market for that model putting ads in SF Examiner or LA Times to return highest dollar figure.

if you do that correctly, and sell every 2 years or so only buying models that hold their value you can almost drive free.

Fortunately I don`t have to worry about the cash enough to plan a sophisticated thing like that. But it sounds good. :thumbsup

If you've got 80k sitting around, talk to Motorex in california, they'll import a nissan skyline for about that price. Plus, its got plenty of aftermarket support, and the market isnt saturated with em, so people wont just laugh and look the other way when you drive by. 280hp twin turbo's.

Then again, I'm a skyline nutcase, no one here has ever heard of them. Greatest japanese car ever made in my opinion.

Goofy looking and AWD?

I'll take a Supra anyday, Japans' flagship.

The supra is a hog.. What's the difference between a 500 hp supra and a 800 hp supra? They both run a 11 second quarter mile.

Skyline will pull anything off the line because its got AWD...
What model do you think is goofy looking? r32? 33? 34? To me, their styled to look muscular, and succeed at it.

Besides, I've seen plenty of supra's around here. I'd take skyline over the supra for the simple fact that noone here has ever seen one. I'd also keep it stock on the exterior, because as far as im concerned, it looks as good is it ever will.

The people that haven't heard of them are the people that could care less about cars.
I'm still a strong believer that anyone remotly associated with the fast and the furious movies deserves to be shot without trial... When the first one was released, everyone with a honda threw on a bodykit and a wing and started driving like dipshits.

I`ve heard alot about them. Not really interested, but alot of go fast kids are.

I have raced one, dunno about their handling, but no amount of street legal mods could take my 'vette in the quarter - i`m convinced.

You could get a car like this and have some fun, get it up to 1000bhp power and go and play with 4WD power slides...

I would suggest the Audi A8. I've sold my Benz S430 to get it and I like it much better. I think the quality of the interior is better. Things like hand made stiches, no cheap plastic buttons, etc... Plus the price lower The A8 starts at $68,500 vs. the S430 which starts at $74,000. Of course you could go nuts with both and start adding on stuff but in the end I think you'll get more bang for your buck with the A8. There is a 3 month wait for it here in New York so you don't be suprised if the dealer tells you you can' t have yours in a week. Driving it is a dream. Very quiet inside, lots of room (also in the back) and some serious power when you step on it. Audi also has some cool toys to go with the car that I haven't seen in the Benz. One of my favorites is the solar panel built into the sunroof. When it's hot outside the fans run off solar power to keep your car cool while it's parked. Since you live in Cali I think you'll find that feature useful. I would say go and test drive it I think you'll have fun.

Agreed... i`ve really begun to appreciate this car. I just need to drive one, I think. Gotta feel myself in it going down the freeway. Also looking to have something that i`ll keep for 3-4-5 years and not have it go out of style, or be second best. This needs to be a long term deal this time. I`ve bought and sold too many cars.

See now you're coming around to my way of thinking. That A8 is fucking hot and not too many people realize it yet.
