Don't you just hate false advertising

don't you just hate it when you sniff over some ads and see rates advertised for NEW clients that are lower than the rates you're currently getting?

that always pisses me off to the point where I leave that company.

What really pisses me off is how they explicitly say that existing customers can't take advantage of the offer... that's a real slap in the face.

Naa...that makes me happy because 5 minutes later I know I'm gonna have that lower rate whether they claim it's for new customers only or not.

Depends.

If you're locked into a contract, then you should just ride it out. You agreed to the terms for a particular length of time, etc.

If it's part of a promotion (example, hosts providing server + bandwidth pricing that they're actually making a loss on) to gain new customers and get some exposure, then that's okay.

But if you are basically receiving a service and paying for it week to week, and they have been able to lower their costs enough to be able to provide it for cheaper, then you should certainly be getting the newer and better prices.

I dislike when that happens also. But at least one can always call the company and get that lower rate.
