He basically played like a psycho, putting his heart and soul into it. Someone earlier on this thread said he had no talent. That someone is an idiot.

angelsofporn 01-30-2004 11:37 PM

blasting slayer now...dave has that 80's metal nuch covered..no one had his speed with the composition

Bansheelinks 01-30-2004 11:39 PM

The thread says BEST DRUMMER.........not favorite drumming in a band.......

Buddy Rich is the most talented drummer of all time even though I would rather listen to John Boneham or Neil Peart.

But I mean, come on, Buddy Rich is the best by far.

After careful consideration I think the best drummer ever could be Brat from Got Jizz.

VERY good selection - actually the three I would select.

One fine effort by Bozzio:

http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...music&n=507846

The track "Only Thing She Needs" is extremely good - my favorite headbanging tune of all time.

Bruford: I especially like the albums he has made under his own name.

I'd also like to mention the drummers on Steely Dan's albums. They may not be as "flashy" as some of the above-mentioned but they do the job very nicely indeed.

SureFire 01-31-2004 12:56 PM

Billy Cobham
Omar Hakim

:)

axelcat 01-31-2004 12:57 PM

system of a downs drummer is very good

MiLo 01-31-2004 01:11 PM

Bill Stevenson gets the job done.

Yep. I used to listen to ALL that stuff. Worked on a record with Walter Becker in his studio in Maui :) One of the highlights of my drumming career.
That stuff also brings to mind the music of:
Brand X
Allan Holdsworth
John McLaughlin
and I FORGOT drummers:

Chad Whackerman

Michael Walden!!! For some of you younger drummers....go back and check out some of his shit...WTF!
http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/tg...glance&s=music
the first song on this record (they dont have a long enough sample for you to hear when the drums come in) one of my favorite performances by a drummer EVER. MICHAEL WALDEN ...dude....look out.
