optical mice (mouse)
Cant really complain too much about them but.... We have 4 in use here and each one has some sort of problems. One just freezes up every now and then and you need to reboot system. Another freezes in browser but close and open browser again and its fine. Another is battery powered and goes flat in a day before it is ever recharged and the 4th is on the server and doesnt get used enough to know its fault yet. I am running cheaper brands with the mice but wondering if there are many issues with major brands like microsoft and logitech or is it just the fact i got some cheap shit here. More than likely it is windows forgetting drivers which could happen with any brand just wondering if everyone has mouse probs.

Why go cheap when it comes to buying a mouse? You use it most of the time when you are at the computer don't ya?

I have a Microsoft Bluetooth Wireless mouse and keyboard I use with my Dell Inspiron laptop. I've found they work wonderfully together, but if you use just the mouse or just the keyboard for a while, the Bluetooth receiver starts searching more often for the other item, causing a lag from time to time.

When I upgraded to XP I couldn't get any software available online to make my Logitech mouse run properly. I switched to a Microsoft mouse and it has lasted about a year but the past few days has started locking up. Not the whole system, I can use up and down keys, but sometimes have to reboot before mouse movement comes back.

People seem to like this mouse but I found it to be the biggest pain in the ass. If you forget to put it on the charger after a few days you're constantly replacing batteries. |

i have a mouse that was used since 1998 it was a microsoft wheel mouse the original drivers were V2.0 that mouse is a gem still clicks perfectly it would clog but work perfect every time i cleaned it was such a gem. Not used now as it is serial but loved that mouse it is stained around the edges from the dirt grease in fingers eating into plastic.
The idea of dual optical seems to be best bet especially when working on graphics as if you leave mouse still you dont get the response till you move it around. The duals have same issue but at least it knows the last pixel it was on before you move it. I have always bought what was confortable over brands i have the best keyboard that i didnt pay a lot for (talk about touch typing light as) better than any keyboard it came packaged with speakers and a mouse which as in the computer part pile but the keyboard i will keep untill it dies or until ps2 is phased out. The dual optical seems to be the go in cordless to if the batteries last or get 2 i cant see a problem doubling up a ps2 socket with the same device

We use both Microsoft and Logitech wireless optical mice here in the office. No problems and no drama at all.
