He said, "yes, you're right, 99% of the young people I ask that question to say the same numbers".

He then got out his checkbook and wrote out 2 checks and tossed them on the floor and told me to reach down and pick them both up at the same time using my left hand for one and my right hand for the other. I did so.

Then he said, "now look at the checks and read out loud the amounts". I said, "one is for $1,000 and the other is for $1,000,000".

Now he said, "tell me which one was harder to pick up off the floor?"

I thought for a second, smiled and said, "they were the same".

Lesson learned!

A check with 6 zero's doesn't weigh any heavier than a check with 2. So why not figure out how to get the first one instead.

I'm 46, learned the hard way on my own, and have been through the grinder of business for a couple decades. Just trying to help save a lot you young guys time and money, so you don't fall into the pitfalls, make the mistakes, etc. so many inevitably do during the early phases of entrepreneuring.

I'm not a genius by any means. I just work hard to learn as many things as I can. Knowledge is power. It gives you the edge to beat your competition. Sharing your knowledge with others traveling the same road is very spiritually rewarding to me inside and a part of giving back like others gave back to me when I was young.

It goes really fast guys. Before you know it your an old dog like me. It seems like yesterday I was like a lot of you here. The greatest thing is to make it when you're young so you have lots of great years before your body, energy and stamina start to wear down and age. I'd give anything to be back to my 20's with all the wisdom and knowledge I have now.

But the clock keeps ticking and part of the joy now is sharing things you learned so others can keep creating and building the world more and more. I want my 9 year old son to have something great ahead for him. Each generation has to pass on to the next. That's how this planet perpetuates itself and keeps getting better for most people and more technologically advanced.

:)

Wish this thread was about how to make $1,000/day per website...

JunkyardDog 01-29-2004 11:12 PM

yep hard work and some creativity and you can do it for sure. Also helps to take a few chances and risks to further advance yourself and earning potential.

This 19 inch KDS shows me the internet just as good as the $1000 flatscreens and it sits the same on this $100 desk as it would on a $5000 one. You worry about "stylin" to impress yourself or whoever the fuck you want, I'll worry about investing my money in shit that fucking matters.

Nice posts!
If you ALWAYS look for opportunities they will show themselves to you a hundred times a day.
There's no ONE day in my life that I don't come across few and for me, it just a matter of picking the better ones.
Be success conscious, it always works!

This link above is from one of my previous threads. The 100 dollar a day goal is NOT difficult to achieve. I started my first website in 1998 and by late 1999 I was doing in excess of 300+k a month (not all profit, I would say 60+ % was profit). All it took was dedication. The site I'm talking about in the link at the top I just launched a month ago and have been averaging about 26 signups a day with it from 3 paid link spots, netting me in about 90 days a 15k-20k+ month income from that site alone.

If anyone needs design service, banners, or would like to pormote the site at the post link at the top, get ahold of me. We do full adulkt tour design and members area template for less than $700 turnkey.
