Norton Antivirus 2004

is a real piece of crap, installed the trial, this thing slow down my 2,8GHz laptop so much !!!!!!!!!!!!! + the annoying pop-ups telling me it's busy.

I'm changing back to 2003 edition, they really missed the ball on this years edition.

I have Norton 2004 on several of mine and my clients machines. It runs great even on some old WIN 98 machines.

Did you run a full system scan after install? The only time I see it working is during a scan or when sending/receiving email (if you have that option checked).

I didn't really notice a big difference between the 2003 and the 2004 version.

yes I did.
well, it sometimes hangs on mails, but the real hanging starts when it's checking p2p soft like kazaalite,...
at that point there's this big popup that says it's busy and has the options to let it check or stop checking.

Re-installed 2003, all the problems are solved, fast as ever.

read up about it, seems they've had this problem a lot and symantec didn't know why, but it doesn't occur anymore if you uncheck the hahahahahahahahahaha checking option.

testing people, testing ...
