        From what I can tell, it's in the process of being sent to Tala and most of it is already there. Apparently with the falling American $$ and Tala's bank not accepting the checks, some of what was given has been eaten up in fees.

                All i can say is this .. i fucking donated 1 grand for tala.. and i dont even know who the fuck she is , but it seemed to be the right thing to do .

                But now looking back now i was a fucking idiot for doing it .

                Brad very cool of you to help some one out . But the facts should of been more clear on her situation. As in her being back playing on the boards just days after the charity took place for some one who was not gonna work for 1 month . Being that she would not be able to work and would have a shitty holiday i dropped the money ,,No offense i should of spend another k on video games for my kids. ..
                I know this was not your fualt tala nor really brads either but the whole thing makes me feel like i was takin for a ride .


                SO next time you all wanna do a charity think before posting get the facts striaght on the situation becuase this one just makes the whole deal seem like a fruad. .

                                                                                                                                I will say this, having had two very major abdominal surgeries similar to a hystorectomy myself (two caesarean sections), I was able to sit up and sit for a few hours at a time the day I got out of the surgery. It was extremely painful but I could do it (and had to, considering that I had to feed the babies, etc). I'm not really that surprised if Tala was up the day of or a day or so after. Different people have different pain tolerances. Being able to WORK is another story. There is NO WAY IN HELL I'm going to be able to work for a while after I have my c-section and hysto (on March 4th), but there's no way I'm gonna be able to stay in bed, either (not with two kids and a newborn). As for the rest of the situation, I'm not even going there but that's my two cents on THAT part of it

                                                                                                                                                        I don't understand how a bank can refuse checks. Maybe a Russian bank or something but not an american bank. I get checks from all over the world and have NEVER had my bank refuse to accept it. It just sits in the account until it gets validated, or verified or whatever the hell it is they do, but they don't just refuse to take it.

From Canada, Australia, etc. I'm just repeating what Tala said in another thread.

                                                                                                                                                                                She could have a hold or something on her account regarding "strange" checks. A "large" check from Canada could throw a flag and be refused/put on hold. Does seem strange though, usually they're just placed on hold. I've never had it happen but know a few that have.

                                                                                                                                                                                            When I receive a check in Canadian funds and not marked USD, which is rare, but it has happened, my bank does the conversion.....and the amount on the check becomes less than.

                                                                                                                                                                                            I've never had my bank refuse to deposit or cash them; but they do convert it and I get what I get from it.
