    Tala still hasn't gotten all of her money?

    I just found out that Tala still hasn't received all of her money that was donated before Christmas. Instead of sending Tala her money, which she desperately needs to pay bills, Brad has been partying in Vegas and hosting some party in Vancouver? I'm all for having a good time, but Brad, you've got some serious responsibilities hanging over your head here that you need to get taken care of.

    Also, there were several people who made a pledge to send her checks because they did not use PayPal and so far she has only received two. She was apparently promised decent sized checks from several sponsors and NONE of them have arrived yet.

    Tala has bills to pay and she still owes some money to the hospital (of which almost $900 won't even be paid once all the money DOES come in) so those of you who pledged to help her, please remember and honor your promise.

    Oh, and someone marked a laptop off Tala's wish list and she never got it. If it was you and you actually did order it, please let her know because she needs to track it down. If this was someone's idea of a cruel and fucked up joke, then

    Tala has been incredibly patient and understanding about this whole thing and it's making her miserable. She is incredibly grateful for everything that has been done for her so far. She didn't want to make a fuss about it, so I'm posting this for her. She NEEDS the money that righfully belongs to her.

    Thanks to all who donated to her and let's help Tala get what she's owed.

                          It is not uncommon in the non-profit world for people to "pledge" money to a good cause and then not deliver.

                          When Jerry Lewis releases his telethon donation numbers, much of that is "pledges" which never come through.

                          You don't hear Jerry complaining. Be happy with what you do get!

                              Not to come across the wrong way... but she also got over three times more money than she needed to cover the surgery and from what I know she is back to work.

                              She said she was going to be unable to be on a computer for about a month because of the recovery time... and she was posting on GFY a few hours after she got back from the hospital.

                              The whole point of Brad starting the thread was to cover the 1500 for her surgery.... not to cover her other bills...etc. As Tala had stated that because of the surgery costs she would be short for her other stuff.

                              Tala started a thread about not getting her money and people were gettin on Brad about it... Brad responded saying he regrets doing it and wouldn't do it again. Brad had Vegas booked... was sick when he got back and did the best he could to get all the money out.

                              There was a problem with Tala's bank taking the cheques..etc... so Brad had to do it another way... Which he did.

                              Im getting sick of hearing about how Tala hasn't gotten all of her money... if it wasn't for Brad starting a thread about her, she would have had nothing

                                  Get your facts straight as you're accusations are indirectly making lots of people look in a negative light. Brad did not treat me or anyone else I know that was at the Vancouver dinner, nor did he use any funds or pay for anything for the party at my place. I am sure nobody present wants to be fingered by you as whooping it at someone else's expense.

                                          I really didn't want this brought here, but I guess it is time to do some complaining, even though I don't want to be seen as an ungrateful bitch.

                                          Like Tootie said, I'm soooooooooooooooo grateful for all that everyone has done. You have no idea how thrilled and happy I was, and how much respect I hold for those involved. I appreciate everything you've all done.

                                          But, again as she said, I'm still going to be $900 behind after all the money is here. I'm just waiting for it all to get here, and I'm not sure when that would be, since I've been told several times that I'd be getting it that day or he'd try to get it to me that day. I understand being sick sucks, or maybe you just get too busy or something, but...

                                                  Exactly... Brad never paid for anything for anyone. The only money I saw him spend ever was for his own dinner and 1 pop.

                                                  Then we went to Hershie's place where, obviously, Hershie took care of us with snacks and drinks.

                                                  Brad never "hosted some party" as it was put. He was just in town and thought it would be cool to meet some webmasters while here. And we did that.

                                                                  The money HAS been sent. There was a whole lot of money sent to Brad via PayPal for Tala before Christmas and there have been a whole lot of problems with it. He has sent her part of the money, but not all of it. He keeps telling her that he will send it, but then for some reason or another it doesn't get sent. It doesn't take that long to send a Western Union. And there has been over a month in which this could be taken care of and so far it hasn't been. Pledges aside, there is still a substantial amount of money that was sent directly to Brad's PayPal account that he still has possession of.

                                                                      Please, please, don't think I'm ungrateful, Brad kicks ass for setting it all up and stuff, but the bills added up to more than 1500. I probably should have said something but didn't want folks to get uptight and upset aboutit, because I'm not trying to decieve anyone.

                                                                      I went back to work because I felt guilty as hell for not being there. That was my choice, and I'm still recovering because I ignored the doctor and jumped back in. I'm dealing with that now, but the upshot is I'm finally over that fucking flu I had.

                                                                      As for the Vancouver thing, not sure who hosted it. Just know he went. From what it sounds like, he had a blast as did everyone else. Cool deal.

                                                                      Maybe we should just drop it. I hate upsetting people, this sucks. GFY was so good to me, and I'm so glad you all were. It's awesome. I can do without the last $1k, I can make it up in work as soon as I pick up another couple of clients, please don't let this get ugly over me and such a small amount of moeny. Tootie cares about me and just wanted to help.

                                                                          additionally, (this wont be popular) but shes also mentioned paying vet bills and going back to school on that money. i thought the purpose of this was to cover the 1500 she lost on that contract. look i was like the FIRST person to donate to that but this IS getting tedious.

                                                                          shes got a 1500 a month adult.com job, a few grand in donations and god knows what else.

                                                                          if i was brad id donate whats left to Feed The Children.

WTF. My mom had a hystorectomy and was out for 8 weeks, basically paralized on the couch, NOT able to move let alone type.

                                                                                                                          Let me make this clear HERE and NOW. Tala did not ask for one dime. Brad came to GFY and organized the whole thing AFTER she was ALREADY in the hospital. She had no idea that all this would be happening until AFTER she got home from having her surgery. Brad already has the money, it was intended for Tala, so I don't see what the problem is. I've helped Tala out personally, but had I sent Brad money that was meant for her I'd be pretty darned upset if she didn't get it. Wouldn't you?

Tootie was absolutely wrong on that comment and made a lot of people look stupid to boot since she left the impression like we were partying with Tala's money and then she responds and says "perhaps" she was mistaken about that. As far as I know he is not in need of money. I'm just saying that he's had a very long time to get it sent and he hasn't.

                                                                                                                                                              FOR THE RECORD, I am NOT saying Brad is dishonest in ANY WAY. He was a good person for orchestrating the whole thing, but the fact remains that people sent him money for Tala and it never got to her.
