Sub Domain Question..

Why does http://subdomain.domain.com work when i type it into the browser but not www.subdomain.domain.com ?

Cause WWW is a subdomains of sorts already

Because www is actually a subdomain. You can configure your server to resolve www.subdomain.domain.com if you wish.

You need to create an A record for www.subdomain.
