Does anyone have a Toyota Tacoma

...and if so...what are the pros and cons...happy with its durability or not? I am considering buying a new small pickup truck.

Any major repairs during the 300K...such as engine...transmission...frontend...bottom line...drive train type of stuff? I will research the s10...thanks.

i had a toyota tacoma 2000 reg cab. awesome little pick up, just enough torque and good on gas mileage. the seats were alittle uncomfortable tho, and could use the power package (windows & locks). overall, i'd give that little pick up 8.5/10 btw you remember those toyota commercials the owners saying they have 400k or more miles, it is true, toyotas will run until you shoot it, it runs forever. hope this helps

A lot of S10's had problems with wheel bearings going bad (I think just 4 wheel drive models.)

You can't just replace the bearings because it is part of the whole one piece wheel hub, so the whole hub has to be replaced, which is a real shitty design.

My friend is a used car dealer so he keeps me up on all the scams and stuff to watch out for.

Don't know anything about the newer Tacoma's but the only problems he has had with the older ones is with the clutch going on standard tranny models.

The clutch recently. It is about ready for the new engine and transmission

I bet it is...and I suspect he has probably had to replace the clutch 2-3 times previously...ask him for me please.

theking,

I don't think you will have much of a problem with any Toyota model.

We bought a celica the year before we married . We never had a problem and only had to sell it cause of the two little kids.

I think we sold it pretty close to what we bought it for.

here ya go.

He's had it since 98 and it's a 95

the clutch was only changed because oil got it in and it was not worn out.

no transmission work yet.

Water pump problem that he had to change out himself.
