Hotmovies Joins Fight Against Acacia

At Internext and AVN we were asked a lot about National's stance on Acacia. This should clear matters up.

Hotmovies has joined fight against Acacia:

very cool.

not hard to see why AEBN and now HotMovies are choosing to fight - 100% of their revenue is video streaming/downloads. They'd take it harder than anybody if Acacia prevails.

thats 2 thumbs up, and i love what said in the PR.

if everyone rolls over on this Acacia thing we just open our selves up to be easy targets for other situations like this.

and if you setttle and the patent is overturned you might have to still pay acacia money based upon your contract ..

go go go !! Feb 6th is coming close, its not a end but its the start..!

National A-1 Advert released their offical PR statement about them fighting against Acacia.. some great quotes not covered in the AVN article.

http://www.fightthepatent.com/v2/NationalA1.html

My favorite part of the PR:

Richard Cohen said:

"It is hard to believe and embarrassing to many of us in the industry," Cohen asserts, "that many companies have chosen to settle even though, in their hearts, they know Acacia is wrong"

"These companies also know that Acacia has a reputation for bullying defendants into settling. Companies that have settled now look at the royalties they must pay to Acacia as just another cost of doing business."

Although Cohen says he prefers to avoid the headaches and stresses associated with any litigation, he strongly believes there is more to life than money.

"Doing the right thing and fighting for what we believe in is what we will do,"' says Cohen. "Even if we lose, we will know that, in good conscience, we did the best we could to stop the unfair and unjust claims made by a company whose battle plan knows no limits."

National A-1 needs to get their press release out like Acacia does with their press releases.

Whenever there is pro-Acacia news, it's sent to every news source in the world.

When there is anti-Acacia news, it goes only to AVN.

It's time for the defense group to start getting their message out to the rest of the world.

Please, consider getting the National A-1 press release some wide distribution - hire a company to get it out to everyone.

It could lead to some more mainstream coverage of this joke of a patent.

Mainstream is getting involved..talking to 2 mainstream media outlets... More mainstream articles will be coming out... along with universities getting involved (a professor at a university has assigned his 3rd year law students to do a paper on the acacia case... i have been providing them with background info).

The word is getting out there....
