IS THIS ANY GOOD: Adobe Photoshop CS Total Training.

Its a shame that I am a webmaster and I dont even know html or how to use photoshop..

Last time I opened up and played with photoshop was back in 1996 when I was still in College and I was in a computer lab fucking around..

I wanna learn it.
Is this program any good for learning it?

Ive been going crazy buying programs and the learing DVD's to learn how to opperate em..

I just bough Photoshop CS, also Adobe Premiere Pro.

I bought like an 8 hour DVD that was supposed to be good to teach me Premiere, since that fucking program doesnt seem to have a good learning curve..

Now I wanna get something good to learn photoshop..

No books please.. I hate books.

I need something i can watch on TV as im eating my Pizza and learning at the same time..

Most these programs, the best way to learn is to just load it and play around with it and learn things on your own as ya go along...

Only problem is, Ill play with it, get frustrated, and rather than try to figure it out ill just come to GFY and fuck around..

So that doesnt work..

I need something that I can go to the TV room and watch..

No distractions.

I guess thats why God made Turks and Russians..

To help me with my programing, designs, and consulting for cheap.

Seems simple to me.

Why learn it when you can just hire someone for cheap..

Thats what Ive thought for the past 5-6 years.

I've thought about giving that a try. I make my living with Photoshop and it's also my favorite hobby, but I always feel I can learn more. I've spent a small fortune on Photoshop books and now I'm learning Illustrator. I haven't tried any video learning yet, though.

I tried a demo of CS and I'm glad I didn't buy it yet. I'll wait until they fix some things first.

well... the only thing stopping you from learning is yourself.

I personally think books are the best to learn with. You just sit in the drivers seat and do what the book tells you. Tutorials are also good, free, and all over the internet.

It's all downhill after that.

I looked at the demo clips and I think $299.00 for 7 DVDs is a great
price for this product.

One of the keys to tutorial videos is to not waste audio space
with unnecessary dialog plus that dialog should flow smooth
with an attention-getting style voice. I think this author has
great skills in video tutorials.

The videos can be good for getting the basic stuff down. But will probably not help you figure out how to do any super usefull effects or stuff when it comes to making website stuff with photoshop besides editing pictures. Which can be good if you want to learn photoshop to touch your photos up.

The videos are way easier to learn from then anything else though, because they show you exactly where to point and what not. I used a 3D Studio Max one awhile ago after giving up on using online tutorials.

The online tutorials are great because you will see some cool looking effect or something on some other site and usually the online tutorials will show you exactly how to do it.

LOL

I wish I knew if it would be worth it for me to spend that much on it. I'd hate to spend $299 to learn what I've already learned on my own and from several hundred dollars in books.

My husband would kill me for wasting that kind of money if I couldn't learn anything new.

Bone - one of my friends has the Total Training for Photoshop 7 and it kicks ass.

A few months ago I bought the Total Training for Adobe Premier Pro - thinking that I might learn some video editing. I bought the DVDs but soon discovered that not only is "good" video editing a talent - it's a fucking science. Anybody can edit, but "good" editors are few and far between. It takes a while to not only learn the editing process, but to develop an eye for good editing.

At any rate, I put these DVDs up for sale on ebay if anybody wants to bid on them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3380522044

Just jump in .
A wholehearted effort will payoff .
Tutorials are written usually by people that dont have a clue how to write a tutorial , or by people that make it want to seem harder , to sell design .

90% of the tutorials out there can be done in much easier ways .
I don't get it my self .

Best thing with any graphics program is to have a good reference book and alot of time .

I've been inside adobe for 20 hours a day for the last year , since I switched to it . and I still have soooo much to learn .

It seems to me that your talents lie in making money and not in making the product. You've gotten this far without it so why worry about it now? Hire the people that are masterful at something and spend your time making money and having fun.

Do you think Donald Trump knows anything about engineering or architecture? No, and why should he, he's a master at the art of the deal.

Just my

True... but having been in his industry (real estate) for so long, and being a "master" at it, you can be sure that Donald Trumps knows a lot about the current limitations and possibilities of technologies and methods that apply to his industry.

In other words -- Donald Trump may not be a master architect, but he probably knows a hell of a lot more about it than you or I -- and for good reason.

I'm not a very good designer, but I know how to use photoshop well enough to clearly convey my ideas to designers in a language they can understand.
