I heard that WCIII wasn't all that. I loved WCII and StarCraft. Is WCIII worth getting?

It's well worth getting. SC is probably the best balanced RTS around, but I just love WC3.

I'm in channel GFY on bnet now. No laughing at my record

I guess I'm too old for twitch gaming now. I loved Q2 and played it religiously for 2 years, but then I broke my left elbow snowboarding and since then I just can't compete

I did enjoy Call of Duty though - shame the MP sucked

Strategy games are my favourite. Warcraft 2, Settlers, and such.

I miss the days of WC2.

Rumors abound about the development of Star Craft 2, but I think Blizzard's efforts are going into WoW and Starcraft: Ghost right now, plus they just had a bunch of the founders jump ship to form a new company.

I would love it if they came out with a StarCraft II!

StarCraft has got to be the best game, overall, that I have ever played.

Validus, I see you play Desert Combat. I've seen you in our weekly games, haven't I?

Heh not bad. We played a quick 2v2 vs the comp to warm up and just completely stomped them, then played a 2v2 AT game vs level 4 smurfs and won.

Got the replay saved if anyone wants it. We both went random and I got my worst race - Orc, but we did okay in the end

Not a huge fan of WCIII (WCII was great)... I'd rather play C&C or SCII, to date myself.

Can't wait to see what the next generation of RTS brings... hopefully they won't alter a whole game to beat the Rush tactic.

I like playing the custom games in WC3
each map is like playing a whole different game, as long as its well made

wc3 still gets some playtime out of me, worth the price definately. I like the custom games too. Got frozen throne exp. as a gift and finished it pretty quick, don't pay more than $15 for that.

I saw this thread the other day. I just got back from the mall and I picked up WCIII while I was there. Just gimme a few days to master it and I'll be ready to do battle.

If you guys wanna play sometime, drop me an ICQ.

Not played for about a week but would be fun to get some games going on night. Maybe even a small tournament?

Best two custom maps I've found so far are:

The Big Chill (make sure it's version 34c)
Tides of Blood

Both great AOS type maps and a lot of fun.

Madcap - I'm still hyper busy after Internext. once this snow clears we'll hit Canterbury park and kick some ass!
