Bone - one of my friends has the Total Training for Photoshop 7 and it kicks ass.

A few months ago I bought the Total Training for Adobe Premier Pro - thinking that I might learn some video editing. I bought the DVDs but soon discovered that not only is "good" video editing a talent - it's a fucking science. Anybody can edit, but "good" editors are few and far between. It takes a while to not only learn the editing process, but to develop an eye for good editing.

At any rate, I put these DVDs up for sale on ebay if anybody wants to bid on them: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...tem=3380522044

Just jump in .
A wholehearted effort will payoff .
Tutorials are written usually by people that dont have a clue how to write a tutorial , or by people that make it want to seem harder , to sell design .

90% of the tutorials out there can be done in much easier ways .
I don't get it my self .

Best thing with any graphics program is to have a good reference book and alot of time .

I've been inside adobe for 20 hours a day for the last year , since I switched to it . and I still have soooo much to learn .

It seems to me that your talents lie in making money and not in making the product. You've gotten this far without it so why worry about it now? Hire the people that are masterful at something and spend your time making money and having fun.

Do you think Donald Trump knows anything about engineering or architecture? No, and why should he, he's a master at the art of the deal.

Just my :2 cents:

True... but having been in his industry (real estate) for so long, and being a "master" at it, you can be sure that Donald Trumps knows a lot about the current limitations and possibilities of technologies and methods that apply to his industry.

In other words -- Donald Trump may not be a master architect, but he probably knows a hell of a lot more about it than you or I -- and for good reason.

I'm not a very good designer, but I know how to use photoshop well enough to clearly convey my ideas to designers in a language they can understand.

Total Training is the leader in Photoshop training. I've watched the Premiere tapes... it's so much easier to remember when you just watch somebody doing it right.

The productivity gains, and improved image quality, more than offset the cost of the tapes.

It'll teach you about obscure but extremely useful stuff like adjustment layers, image masks, unsharp mask rates, etc. ... which many people don't know about -- they just hit "levels" and destroy image information like crazy.

Once you learn how to do things right, you'll wonder how you ever lived before.

And it just might show up as increased sales from the customer's perceived increase in the value of the site's images.

I learned it by just screwing around with it and when I got stuck I'd read the help files. IMO, it's the best way to learn because you learn more through trial and error.
