n a move that could dramatically shake up the government, the Justice Ministry will decide in the coming weeks whether to press charges against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon in a burgeoning corruption case following the indictment Wednesday of businessman and Likud kingpin David Appel on charges of bribing Sharon, his son, Gilad, and Labor Trade and Industry Minister Ehud Olmert. The charge sheet issued against Appel was the first indictment to be filed in either one of the two political scandals involving the Sharon family dating back from the late 1990's. Reflective of the heavy legal cloud of uncertainty now hanging over the premier's head, Justice Ministry officials said Wednesday night that a decision will be made in "the coming weeks" whether charges will also be filed in the high profile corruption case against the premier, his son, or his deputy, Olmert....
