    Giving up smaoking...... Whats worked for you?

    Been smoking for 20 years, but I have been smoking 60 a day for the last couple of weeks and had a major asthma attack last night......



    I really need to stop....... what has worked for you?

    than 1 a day..

        try light cigs 2 weeks and then lighter cigs 2 weeks and then the lightest cigs 2 weeks and then stop and eat chewing gum (normal gum)

              COLD TURKEY!

              The trick is you are going to go back and get a pack. But don't give up. Smoke that packa nd then try to go twice as long as you did the first time. You are going to get another pack trust me. then try to increase the time again. eventually you just don't buy that last pack. My last pack was 3 1/2 years ago. Just remember if you get a pack it doesn't mean give up!!!

                Slowly cut down on the amount you smoke.
                Ive use to quit smoking cold turkey and failed every time. The last time I quit i tried a different approach and gradually got my body off nicotine. From a pack a day, to 3/4, to 1/2, etc...
                I still get cravings almost every day, but they are slowly, and I mean slowly getting weaker. They never go away 100% and quiting nicotine is harder then getting off heroin they say.
                Every once and a while, maybe once a week i light one up, and have about 3 or 4 drags and im good for a while. May not be 1oo% quitting, but its alot better then what I was doing.

                ohhh, and your probably going to gain some weight cause food really does taste so much better now...
