Lose wireless connection with LINKSYS?

Anybody have a Linksys wireless hub? Do you lose connection every once in a while?

WTF is wrong with this fucker? Every couple months I lose my wireless connection to my Laptop(Toshiba). I usually get it back by fucking around with the chanels, restarting the wi-fi hub and laptop. This time around I cant get it back, I even updated to the latest Toshiba and Linsys drivers.

Im just about to chuck the fucker out the window

I've experienced a similar problem with my linksys hub and toshiba laptop. I lose my connection one or two times a week. Usually its comes back on its own about 15 minutes later although on one occasion it lasted several hours. Interestingly my wife's laptop (also a Toshiba) has the same problem but rarely at the same time. However, when I lose my connection to the linksys I am often still able to connect to other wireless networks. It hasn't annoyed me enough to figure out exactly what is going wrong, I just assume its interferance on that channel.

I have had the same problems.

Did some reading and I tracked it back to my cordless phone.
Frequency of the phone interfered with my linksys.
Have to reset sometimes......

Hope that helps.

The best place to put your Wireless Router is as close to the center of the area that you want to cover.
The worst place to be (weakest signal) is directly under a Wireless Router.
You'll probably do best if you orient your Wireless Router's antenna(s) vertically.
Keep antenna(s) away from large metal objects like filing cabinets and away from operating microwave ovens or 2.4GHz cordless phones. Also watch out for large containers of water. Fish tanks or water heaters for example.
If you're having trouble with getting a strong signal with your laptop, try moving so that the laptop's wireless card antenna is pointing toward the Wireless Router.
Avoid antenna placement close to an outside wall (unless outside is where you want to be). Also, if you want to connect while you're outside, place the Wireless Router near a window.

This is definitely the case. wi-fi broadcasts on 2.4. Once I switched to the 5.8 there were alot less probs.

One weird thing though....for some unknow reason, I can't use the newest drivers. They simply don't work for me. Switching back to an older driver was the only solution.

Linksys is a horrific product, and will never ever get my business again. Nothing but trouble.

If you like wirless, get yourself Netgear. Went from 35% signal strength in my bedroom with linksys to 95% with netgear.

Thx for everyones help. I now know what fucked everything up. Yesturday we plugged in our Baby Monitor for the first time.

It fucked things up real good, I did everything possible, even reinstalled my WiFi card. Can not get the thing running agian! Is it possible that the baby monitor burnt out the antenna signal permanently???

Same fucking shit man, I have a LynxSys wireless router and a Toshiba laptop with a ZyXel wireless card.

If i'm close to the router it's normally of, but if the strengh is 20% or below it drops all the time.

I also have an SMC wireless router too and i don't get this problem.

The only thing i'll try when i get back to my office is an ACCESS POINT to boost the signal between the laptop and the router.....

Here's what I do when this happens. (For some reason the driver gets erased from time to time or settings get jacked up). Connect your LAN cable from your router directly to your PC and do a local lan IP check, release all IPs, and refresh.
