I grew up watching "Monty Pythons" but I had to go to a mates house because my drunken git of a Dad would not let me see it at home.................

Still my favourite sketch was "The Parrot Sketch"

"this is a no longer parrott, its gone to the big cage in the sky"

"no it aint its just sleeping"

"then why is it nailed to its perch"

:thumbsup tops

Anyone see their "Re-Union" show that they did in..I think it was 2000?

It was hilarious. They even had Graham Chapman's ashes in a urn occupying one of the chairs. They'd even ask Chapman questions and listen carefully for his answers.

ONLY Monty Python could get away with that being hysterical!
And I'm sure Graham would have loved it too!

It is actually called the Rutles and it is fantastic. It gets shown fairly often on tv here and my husband makes us watch it. It was done in 78 and was mostly Eric idle's baby though it has cameos from most Pythons and also most of the early SNL cast too. In fact, George Harrison is in it also.

One final question Karl and the beautiful lounge suite will be yours... Are you going to have a go? (Karl nods) You're a brave man. Karl Marx, your final question, who won the Cup Final in 1949?

Karl: The workers' control of the means of production? The struggle of the urban proletariat?

Presenter: No. It was in fact, Wolverhampton Wanderers who beat Leicester 3-1.
