Maybe you should negotiate on behalf of Probilling, BrentD; after all, they may have alienated their parents and someone will need to talk to these parents. Seeing how they now have to make the move out of their basement to back home. |
I don't recall, but doesn't stats remote use probilling to process their service?

3 employees in a basement It doesn't take alot of people to run a internet company (billing or otherwise). Yahoo started in the garage. For all you know, CCBill has 5 employees. If some internet company has more than a dozen employees (not including models), they might be doing something wrong. Most of these muli-million dollar companies on the internet only have around 6 employees. Your saying the amount of employees for a internet company has something to do with how big of a company it is, when it doesn't. |
Remember how microsoft started :)

any theories on who's going down next????

Probilling got what they deserved. Anyone who was willing to put their faith in these people who ran and hid from legitimate questions & issues was either desperate for a processor, cheap, or foolish, or didn't have the $$$ required to start a regional presence company and pay the VISA fees. I'm far from in favor of the ridiculous VISA mandates but they are a fact of life, and a fact that Probilling KNEW was going to bite them, and their clients, in the ass.
Probilling was smoke & mirrors, and now have been chopped down as predicted many a time. |

Tis obvious you have no idea what you are talking about re Probilling. It has nothing to do with some folks being "desperate for a processor" or trying to avoid the USVISA $750 fees (these are only relevant to the US or anyone who wishes to jump into that frying pan anyways) Tho gotta agree on the "VISA mandates".. all crap! |

I was never a fan of Probilling, or the way they would dance around or just ignore legit questions webmasters had for them. That said, I never want to see a company forced out of business. Maybe its true that they will stay open for ACH and telephone. This is yet to be seen.... Hopefully webmasters will get their money owed. If Probilling comes through then they deserve some credit. They could very easily shut down completely and run away with your money. BUT-them paying out is still to be seen. Ifthey really are planning on staying in biz then it would be in their best interests to pay what people are owed.
One other difference is they are giving webmasters time and notice to find another proccessor. Visa transactions wont stop till the 25th I think, although MC is immediate. That is more then Globill ever did. The bigger picture and what people should be concerned with is the fact that these 3rd party billers are all but being forced to close up shop. IMO this is just not right. What this also does is weakens the competition out there. So were down to 3 or 4 if you count Verotel. These three companies could very well say starting tommorow transaction fees are going to be 25-30%. And they will be able to get away with it because where else are you going to go? Less competition is usually not a good thing. I doubt Visa or MC will ever get out of Adult, but I can very well see them increasing fees, and making it even tougher. But hey, Amex got out of adult alltogether so does anyone ever really know? And whats to stop Visa or MC causing trouble or abusing their power with CCbill or Epoch in the future? You can speculate and dream up theories all you want, but the fact remains, nobody really knows or can predict what is around the corner. |
Getting tighter ....
SENSEx is right, even if I don't like what he says.... |
