Any Classic Rock Fans? Kick ass station here in Cali
I know I'm old when I can tune into a 'Classic Rock' station and remember when the songs were new.
I remember when the Beatles first broke. But I'm talking about one station here in Cali, Airo 93.1 fm. The technology for recording, engineering and broadcasting are so much better that these old tunes sound magical. The other day they jammed some Fleetwood Mac and I thought the universe was playin' the tune. They brokeout with some Eagles, Moody Blues, AC DC etc. All sounded goooooood. Then they had a Tom Petty block. I'll tell you, the best album I ever bought so far was Tom Petty's Greatest Hits. They also played some Led Zep and it sounded so good I had to go and break out my CDs for comparison. Didn't sound as good so I guess I gotta go out and get the newer engineered stuff. What are these engineers doing that makes the music sound so much better? |

My station of choice is www.92citifm.ca , they fired up their 300,000 watt station back in '78 and rolled their first song: Deep Purple's "Highway Star".
I've listened to dozens of online broadcasts from classic rock stations from all over, Atlanta, San Diego, San Fran etc..... none of them are as consistently good as citi is. Check out their live internet broadcast sometime, especially the morning show with Tom & Joe... it's hilarious. www.92citifm.ca

300,000 watts???? Who are they broadcasting to, downtown Mars???
I didn't know a radio station was allowed to use that much power. I'll bet if you look at the local population there'll be birth defects like all the kids have big ears or can burn holes in dogs with their eyebeams. Seriously, I am definitely gonna check them out. Some of these web broadcasts sound GOOOD with kick ass speakers. btw, cool sig! I'll check them out. |
