That's a beautiful ride. :)

PenisFace 01-15-2004 07:54 PM

Great car, unless you get into a hairy situation and the only thing that will save you from a painfull death will be a car with good handling, at which point you realise your corvette handles like a turd on wheels.

No that would be a shitty driver. The vette handles awesome. Maybe not as good as $100k+ sports car would but still very good.

After trying out a vette and a viper, the vette gets my vote for being the most comfortable. Way roomier than the viper.
I think the new style looks SUHWEET!

The Corvette for the first time in it's history is going to be able to srtand up to the rest of the world GT cars woth nothing to hang it's head about.

The new car will be built alongside the Caddy XLR two seat luxuary sport coupe. The Caddy will have more plush amenities but the vette will get an signifigant upgrade in the interior appointments.

This version will be the best handling, best performing, and most apprpriately equipped Corvette to roll off the Bowling Green line.

As far as the Camaro you can expect to see Bob Luts bring back the name plate based on the initial sales reaction of the new retro 05 Mustang.

The SSR is suppose to be a comparable replacement for the Camaro but will not be able to capture as broad a demographic. The chatter unconfirmed is that Chevrolet would like to bring back the camaro as a specialty car like the SSR that will have retro influence of the 67-69 model years.

With the Holden platformed GTO in production....it is doubtful the Firebird will return....but you never know

The problerm witht e f-body was that in the end it was just a few more dollars off the sticker than the vette. This alienated the very market the car has always been designed to appeal to....the youth market. A young guy could no longer afford to buy the rumbling V8 tire smoking heritage of the Camaro/Firebird

Gm fucked up and left that market wide open for the mustang

I think the vette is still a touch too conservative. I would like to see how this new version looks after a couple of years. Will there be a 500 horse Z06???

There had better be if they want a chip in the world GT market

I put together a 425 hp 81 Camaro during my highschool time, thats where my Chevy love started. The Camaro will be back... it better.

A z06.... I am sure there will be if not Lingenfelter will be able to help :)

HAHA, ok ok... well each their own. I can see how you could see it. Either way this is one good looking, G-Pushing peice or hardware.

Correct. That was 100% the point of my post.

Did you buy at Tom Jumper?

They are honestly the best Corvette people I have ever dealt with. Well worth the wait having it shipped from Atlanta.

Well, one thing that is not "cheap" about the corvette is the small block. Yea baby, the chevy small block power.

Mackone 01-16-2004 12:11 AM

That is absolutely nothing compared to new Mustang. That is what I call a car. I just hope that it would be available in Europe.

GoGoBar 01-16-2004 12:16 AM

Not bad. I have an '02 convertible now. I'll be getting rid of it shortly before my Gallardo arrives at the end of this year :thumbsup

beemk 01-16-2004 12:26 AM

UGH, I can't officially comment on this. Arg just because I have to stay loyal to the Corvette. I have to say though the new Mustang looks, ugh... lets leave it at... original.

Ash@phpFX 01-16-2004 01:04 AM

To each his own. I am never one to critisize a guy for his choice in toys. I do own both a hopped up mustang and a SCd (d1sc) Z06 and I can tell you the Mustang is not even close in comparison.

Now the new Mustang I will have to take a close look at but I have driven the latest cobras and they still have a way to go.

Bottom line is its good to see American car makers getting back into the power wars of the 60s. Gotta love it.

Mpegmaster 01-16-2004 11:03 AM

I like Ferrari better! :thumbsup

Validus 01-16-2004 08:15 PM

I like the Vette better then Ferrari, even better then Porsche.

01-16-2004 09:41 PM

fuckin nice car!

i better start saving my :2 cents:

corvette tries to be a Ferrari, but they always come out with crap. the only US sports car worth buying is the Viper.

body 01-29-2004 03:56 AM

Great Car

Validus 01-29-2004 04:12 AM

We just need more pictures of that machine :)

Mr Pheer 01-29-2004 04:18 AM

Cars just dont excite me anymore, but they used to.

I just bought a 4x4 SUV the other day, nothing spectacular but its paid for, will play in the desert and get me to the coast for my fishing trips. Thats pretty much all I care about in a vehicle anymore.

I guess you don't mind that the new Mustang has a solid rear axel? I thought the Europeans were all about handling.

This one has increased interior volume, and hatch space is up 7.3 cubic feet to 22.4 total.
