    Clarification on the GFY Cancun room rates

    just got an email from Lens -

    "The event is being held at the Omni International in Cancun, with a special Webmaster Access group rate of $219 single and $299 double occupancy ROH per night. That price includes all food and alcohol"

    ok, $299 for the room - double occ, and it includes food - but I was wondering why on the omni website the cost is $162/night for a room, double occ.


    doesn't sound like the omni rate includes food and alcohol, but $130 a day is a LOT of booze..........esp with mexican prices for booze. and I won't eat much if it's hot comming out of a cold climate.

    I was wondering what the difference is between the two room rates? is the GFY room a suite? Does the GFY room get you into the planned events or will any old room do the same?


    i'm not planning on spending much time in the room so I don't think a suite will be necessary this trip, just a nice room, with two beds and an internet hookup is all I'll need.


    so can someone please let me know what the difference is between the rooms so i can make an informed decision on which room I should book as I'm not smart enough to tell which one is the better deal.

                                  Our group rate is supposed to be the best rate that includes all food and booze. They still charge us for booze at the parties, so I don't know how that will effect things.
