Are you guys paying any taxes?

Are you guys paying any taxes on your income from selling porn?
I hate paying taxes... How good or bad is if I don't report any income from this job?
I have a friend hi was driving a cab for 1 year and he made about
40 k and he paid 0 tax but on the other side i have a friend that is a chef in a restaurant and he is paying allmost 40% of his income for tax. that's insane....

What do you think of that subject? I am a newbee and I need some opinion from people that are in this bussiness for few years at least...
thanks

With a good accountant and a decent tax lawyer taxes will be a worry of the past. without worries of tax evasion charges as well =)

I pay almost 60% tax. It's like any other business. If you're serious you run it serious. Tax evasion hurts when noticed by the gov.

Just pay it and don't try the games... they'll catch you, take your Moms house and lock you up with sex crazed Fiend. You get used to the taxes but the Fiends will haunt you forever.

Business taxes are just taxes on the right to do business..

Taxes on personal income are illegal as Hell and this has been proven..

Get this... The 16th amendment.. the amendment that supposedly created a tax on personal income was NEVER ratified..

"The authority of the federal government to collect its income tax depends upon the 16th Amendment to the U.S. Constitution, the federal income tax amendment, which was allegedly ratified in 1913. After a year of extensive research, Bill Benson discovered that the 16th Amendment was not ratified by the required 3/4 of the states, but nevertheless Secretary of State Philander Knox fraudulently announced ratification."

This is why our "employees" can afford limo's and secret service guards for their kids..

Because we just "pay it"

Nobody wants to question.. nobody wants to enter into battle..

and they know this.. so they win... and the pathetic part is. the department that runs this scam isn't even in this country...

But I'm not here to educate.. If the American people would take it upon themselves to pull their heads out of the sand and actually learn the facts, there would be some major changes made.. but the majority would rather, "just pay it" and leave the battles to those that are more than just John Q. And I'm deducting every little fucking thing I can.

My best friend is a CPA and is hooking me up.

Me too. The various websites I've read that say you don't have too seem pretty credible but too scary for my blood.

I know all the BS about the law not being ratified and such Scoot... also have been around the merry go round with the IRS with my last ex... I'll not let them take the farm this time from believing that they can't do what they do everyday.

I never said I didn't try and fight back legally by demanding lower taxes etc when its possible. I'm saying its stupid as well as useless to just NOT pay them period. We save every last receipt and they are marked as to what each thing is... tallied in Quicken or Quickbooks and all dumped on the accountants desk. ;-)

I sure would like access to an itemized accounting of where my money goes. When I get to the point where I am paying more than $50 million in taxes I am going to create a very big, very public stink about that.

Just sign up with a part time job every once in a while for a couple weeks and report that you make like $2000 to the government, thats what alot of people do. That way you are atleast reporting something.

I pay around 40% and deduct everything I can. I have a kick ass CPA and we play by the rules as "uncool" as that may be to some of the tax evaders. I don't like them at all but I prefer not to lose everything I have to prove a point that they are bullshit.

Most sponsors, especially U.S. sponsors, report your income to the government. I'm going to file even though I wish to god I didn't have to. I have kids, I can't risk going to prison no matter how slight the risk.

I am F-U-C-K-E-D when tax time comes. I made a boat load of money earlier in the year and now my income has all but DIED. I didn't save money for taxes because I had a ton of unpaid bills from the past several years and I was paying for content and a server and software and such. I thought I would make enough money during the first part of the year to pay for my taxes, but it's not looking too promising.

I am planning to save 40% of what I make next year to cover next year's taxes, but I don't see how I can do that when I'm going to be making huge payments to the government for THIS years taxes and right now I'm just barely making enough to stay afloat as it is. I have NOTHING left for taxes, but I have to do something.

I've learned the hard way that you HAVE to plan ahead. You HAVE to plan for slumps. You HAVE to prepare for the worst.

We are going to try to incorporate for next year, but it's too late for this year and I just don't know what we're going to do. So learn from my mistake and keep records, save money and FILE!

By all means, don't pay your taxes. Why on earth should you pay your share?

But please, stay the fuck off my interstate highways, do not enjoy the benefits of my military, and keep your kids out of my public schools. Assuming your municipality recieves federal funding, do NOT call the cops or the fire department if your life or home is in jeaopordy. And if you do have to call the local sheriff, don't use the 911 system.

If you or any or your loved ones go to college, promise me you won't take advantage of any federal grants. And if you haven't already bought your first home, promise me you won't go FDA when and if you do.

Guess what, NOBODY likes paying taxes. And yes, we self-employed do feel screwed by the fact that we have to pay for our own "welfare" via the self-employment social security tax (which I prefer to refer to as simply the "self-employment tax"). But unless you're prepared to either fight the system, or privatize every social system in the US (yes, we do have them) or stop utilizing those systems, pay your fucking share.

Sorry, looks like somebody touched a nerve...

Move outside the US, or found an offshore company. Czech govt has no chance to find out how much money I earned from US sponsors & absolutely no chance to find out how much I've withdrawed from my epassporte card.

Tootie, nice post.

Back in '99 I made about 150K and did not send a check in April.
I spent most of my profit from 2000 paying Sam. I now have a good CPA and I won't make the same mistake again.

It's just a matter of sooner or later.

For those of us who need to know, how does one go about filing taxes when you're not even an incorporated business of yet? Just add up everything you made minus whatever deductions you can get away with and pray you don't owe much?

I've not made much, but I betcha they'll take everything plus 20% because I'm a college student. That and I won't be able to get any more funding for school. *sigh*

i always pay my taxes. i figure i pay about 10% off my gross income. ppl who work normal jobs have to pay it, they just don't notice it as much because its taken off for them monthly. seeing that huge lump sum in april going to the government sucks but its how real businesses work.

I've not made much, but I betcha they'll take everything plus 20% because I'm a college student. That and I won't be able to get any more funding for school. *sigh*
I would talk to an accountant, I did that a few weeks ago and we came up with about the same amount I thought I would have to end up paying. I was forgetting self employement tax though. I would talk with an accountant just to make sure you get everything correct.

The ONLY legal way to defer a company's tax bill to a far future date is to ensure the company is incorporated offshore (Note I said defer, you will always have a liability at some point of you are North American). Nobody is forcing you to do business out of North America and for the relatively small bother, you will be set for many years to come with tax-reduced compounding.

It's just a matter of sooner or later.
damn they nailed your ass the next year

The info at http://www.irs.gov/businesses/small/...=98846,00.html might be a place to start.

Essentially you'll have to fill out a form 1040 (not a short form), a Schedule C (or C-EZ) to figure your profit or loss from self-employment, and a Schedule SE to calculate your Self-employment tax.

Become an ex-pat, live someplace laid back, beautiful and CHEAP (try to go to a place with a US tax treaty). Once you have have been there for 330 days (or become a resident), and you have a "tax home", you can apply for a US foreign income exclusion and exclude up to $80,000 USD. If you don't have a home, you can also exclude what you spend for foreign housing...

Or just suck it up and pay your taxes.
