Enron exec pleads out
Fastow, I believe he was CFO of Enron, just plead to 10 years with no chance for parole, and giving up 29 mil to the government. That was in exchange for giving up everyone else involved, if he doesn't they'll pursue the rest of his charges.
God damn. His wife plead guilty to a tax charge too. Going to get nasty once he starts spilling his guts. - Titus |

Part of the deal is probably that he's not allowed to mention Bush or anyone too close to Bush.

I bet the wife of Ken Lay is thinking of offing him right now rather than doing time. They ain't nice to female convicts in prison.

I can't believe all he got was 10 years, when I read the story it didn't mention he couldn't be paroled earlier, I was thinking he'd be out in 3 years
Damn! He caused billions of dollars in damage, destroyed a company and many lives, yet a blue collar criminal would have gotten more for robbing a house or something. Another post said 15 years per gun stolen or something. I'm tired of white collar crime being treated differently than blue collar crime.

The deal is horse shit, Fastow was they guy behind the whole financial sham and the one who walked away with the most cash. 29 million? Fuck after ten years in some rich man's prison (probably 4 with good behavior) he'll walk out to 9 figures in offshore accounts. He should get nothing less than life with no possibility of parole for all the lives he intentionally ruined.

I know I am going to regret this, but here it goes.
The Fastow should be locked away for a long long time and then let out when he is retirement age and forced to work minimum wage until he dies without a retirement. I know this might be a shock, but Goerge Bush had about as much to do with this as Bill Clinton had to do with Whitewater. If you want to effectively assault Bush, there is plenty of ammunition in reality without making up stuff. Several of my close friends worked at Enron during this time and I vividly remember when this all started to break, one of the told me, and I quote,"Skilling's going to jail" Tere are several people there that should never be allowed to retire r spen one solitary day the rest of their life doing anything other than menial jobs. The guy that needs to be called out though is Skilling. He is the slimey one that started convinced them that it was all ok. They can just change the number here and by the time it is important they will have made enough money to cover it all. Seems simple, but it is flat theivary... What did stevecore say those guys got for stealing his parents rifles? Pawn shop paid $800 for them and those guys will have a century of jail time. These guys did a bit more than $800. And now I've got friends with no jobs and a big black mark on their resume because they worked for Enron and they didn't even steal a stapler. All they have left is their Enron Book of Ethics (I'm not kidding either). ....steps of soap box and walks over to cold shower |
