Lesbian Lovers Allegedly Try To Kill Marine 5 Times

In August, the women hired a hit man and promised to pay him $10,000 to kill Tepatti, prosecutors said. Tepatti was stabbed in the neck but survived the attack.

Then, according to prosecutors, the two women tried to poison Tepatti with sedatives that were purchased in Mexico. The drugs, however, only made Tepatti sleepy, said the prosecutor.

Next, the women allegedly moved on to ricin, a toxin classified as a biological weapon. They allegedly got the recipe from a white supremacist Web site but were unsuccessful making the toxin in the family kitchen and garage.

The women tried to make a 9mm gun with items bought at a Home Depot, but that plan, too, failed, according to prosecutors. They then bought a handgun for $450. On Jan. 4, while Wood waited outside with the Tepattis' 3-year-old son, Astrid tried to shoot her husband but missed, prosecutors said.

Finally, the defendants were allegedly trying to buy another gun in Arizona when they were stopped by a California Highway Patrol officer for a traffic violation. The murder plot began to unravel when officers found weapons and ammunition in the car, prosecutors said.
