bhutocracy 01-14-2004 07:26 PM

Depends on what you mean by "old"

Ultima IV
Bard's Tale I
Archon..

Alley cat and moon patrol rocked.. but I don't know whether you can compare that era to what i'd consider the first great age of PC computer games, as opposed to home arcade style gaming ala the atari. I don't know.. maybe it should be the second age in deferance to the 64bit home computers..

digi 01-14-2004 07:30 PM

Lemmings (first PC game I ever played)
wolfenstein 3D
doom
prince of persia

yep it's hilarious. since when is "doom" or warcraft old? lol.

i had pitfall on atari 2600.

I wrote basic and learnt to code games from the manual on my amstrad 6128.. as well as wasting my life away playing bard's tale 1 ghosts and goblins.. a bunch of move licenses like batman et al

the x86 alley cat moon patrol..

then again I started really young so....
still pretty funny to think most here probably never saw a tape drive - hey we used to play games ON CASSETTE TAPES..
WHAT? you don't know what a CASSETTE TAPE IS? j/k
although that day surely isn't far away.

GonePhishing 01-14-2004 09:17 PM

I guess it would have helped if I said from 1980 to 1993 or something like that.

What was that game from '80-'81 that had a periscope and green digital tank? You would target and blast it.

Also, baddest game outside of Robitron was Tempest. I used to rock that fucker off the hinges.
