I was about to order some of the Klipsch speakers about 6 months ago, glad I didn't as I seem to use my headphones more and more. But Klipsch are fucking kickass if you wanna go that high end.

Klipsch are top notch speakers, definitely worth shelling out the cash for them.

Why would anyone waste money on desktop pc speakers? They suck, no volume, no midrange and weak low end. Get a few pairs of home system speakers and a reciever at a pawn shop. Prolly cost just the same, last longer and sound 100 times better!

I vouch for the logitch z-680's incredibe set of speakers if a little pricey. Incredible sound comes out of the dolby digital encoder settings especially using a spdif digital connection. The control pod has 4 inputs and headphone output. 2 analog and 2 digital (optical and spdif coax)
Ive gotten 4 complaints from neighbors already the subwoofer shakes the walls and must weigh 60lbs. The speakers are a little big in size, about the size of a small coffee can. You have to mount the motherfuckers on the wall or you miss the whole experience. The only problems are the cord from the pod to the subwoofer is too short for me. On some kinds of music it seems to sound a little too digital, too overmixed. The blue LCD display is hard to read at any angle but directly in front of it. The bass setting in the pod seems to be a bit high, i can only keep it at 1 or 2 notches. The bass is just too thick. |

Adding if you use SBlive Audigy or Audigy 2 soundcards there is an incredible 3rd party driver set at KXproject.com, if you feel the creative drivers are too limited the KX drivers kick ass.

Don't fuck with anything less than THX certified Dolby Digital and DTS Digital Surround, you will never go back to shit speakers.
