I haven't had a smoke for about 5 years... The first few weeks suck nuts. It does get easier. I wouldn't dream of smoking one now... although I do smoke a cigar every few months.

im with you.....quit four years ago and for some stupid reason started agian about a year ago....

then back up to at least a pack a day....sucked....
once the show was over (and paying 7 fucking bucks for a pack of smokes at the venetian) i swore them off again....

been 3 days now and i remember that the first few weeks were the toughest......

cheated yesterday by having a drag off one and i have to say...tasted like shit....

good luck....hope we can both quit.....

do enjoy a cigar once in awhile......drew estates, acids, naturals, ambrosia...ets....anyone who smokes these cigars knows they taste so much better than a regular cigar....

I gained 20 lbs or so....but I look at it this way....


The weight can easily come off....getting rid of cancer is a lot harder


I think it's a good trade off don't you?

I quit smoking 1 week ago today ( wens). Last smoke was before I got on the plane to head back from Vegas. I have made it a week so far. I have smoked a cigar every other day to ease the pain and it has really helped.

this happened to me the first 2-3 times i tried to stop and it lasted a maximum of 6 mnths.

I now realized that i love to smoke lol...id smoke for any reason possible hehe....but at my rate in the end its gonna kill me so i have no choice but to stop

I too paid 7 fucking dollars at the Venetian for a brand I didn't even smoke. That tells you something...they say cigs are worse than heroin (to quit).

I had my son's birthday back then april and I asked him what he wanted for his 4th birthday he told me that he wished I'd quit smoking? and he wanted a new bike etc..
I was shocked at this coming out of his mouth from a 4 year old.
and I thought my wife put him up to this! no it was from him.
I think it hits home to anyone when there children speak out..
I remember my Dad sufferiing with lung cancer he died quickly
but pretty painful and a fairly young age of 63..
the man was 6ft 3 and his weight dropped from 285 to 155 pounds he looked like a toothpick! I didn't want to check out like that!
fuck that. they say cancer runs in your genes? well I'm not trying them on!.. he.he. hats off to anyone that quits the evil sticks..

and man do people stink from that smoke man! I sure notice it!
you even save on your dental bills.. you'll save your teeth too..

here's a example; I worked at this retirement home handyman when I was in highschool.. the smokers were carry around air tanks they were fat outta shape weezing complaining retards!

the non-smokers were calling up cabs to take them to the gulf courses! lawn bowling etc..they were mostly fit looking well dressed over all groomed better and much more active and cheerful.. "this sounds like just another speach?"

I was out with a buddy he flew into town for a visit we hit the town found a club good music etc, point is most everyone was smoking and I couldn't take it at first seeing I'm not use to this enviroment anymore, I woke up the next day with a really sore throat from sitting there sucking in that second hand smoke..

I have never realized how bad it really is until you quit for along duration of time? and you haven't been exposed to it?
sure it isn't easy to quit but next time your near a hospital swing by the cancer wing have a run through the hallways this will remind you! theres so many Chemicals in this so-called cigs that
there's no dfference from picking up some carpet fibers up off the floor and spray some chems on it and smoking it,.

In Canada they have these ugly photos of rotten black teeth
on some packages and cancerized hearts showing cause/effects
some countries show crossbones/skulls etc.. what part of this message your not understanding.. your just lessoning your over all life span and rapid decrease in your over health your becoming another 'statistic' and you'll be getting some signals in your brain telling you to visit the doctor soon he'll be telling you got the BIG 'C' and your checking out! not to mention your hospital bills you'll rack up.. I could go on.. but it;s your choice?

I'll say this one last thing on this topic seeing it comes down to this silent/sneeky powerful killing machine..

People need to really start understanding one thing,..
if you have children they'll copy the parents or other family members thinking its normal to smoke! even weed too..
my other friend has 3 teens in the house and they all smoke
ages 14-21 yrs old. point is that 2 of them don't work they sit around the house doing fuck all and my buddy pays for there Cigs
plus his wife smokes too!..

So it adds up he pays for his own habit and his wifes and 2 of the 3 teens.. costly for sure and he also pays all the booze too lets not forget about drinks.. there's alot of families doing this..

no one smokes in my house period. "Guests"they go sit in the garage or outside patio area.. the garage is partly furnished stereo,and vented etc..
