And are there different rules for these domains?

If an asshole like me sends a notice to CIRA about a domain name being registered to a non-Canadian entity the domain name usually gets purged (hence there is no resale market for .CA names).

For your information anyone can buy a .ca Canadian domain..
I sold (porn.ca) for a handsome profit recently and I have alot more .ca names, the buyer is in the USA..So Gent on here wants to sell these popular names..
you have to do your math.. what does the future hold.."typeins"

sure I was getting typeins buyers from my popular porn.ca
and any non-canuck resident can pick these up. you mentioned
CIRA; they just have high security standards and I admire that..
so there won't be any ripoffs like it happened with verisign/networksolutions and a few others were on the take..

if I could open my wallet and spare the cash I'd consider pickingup
more .ca gems..

People are used to .com, they don't bother with .us and .ca domains.

Did you grab porn.ca when cira released all those domains a few years ago? I think I tried to grab that one. Fucking canreg.com said they reg'd a bunch of names I was trying to grab and then emailed me like 2 days later saying they didn't get them in time. Out of about 20 domains I ended up with one.

Yes, and EU is involved too.. it's all in the stats..

.com is on it's peak, .ca is just starting to fly like a newborn baby walking. the numbers are there..
USA has 180 million population..
CANADA has only 50 million.. go figure..

give it time.. the buyers/surfers need to be more aware with TV commercials etc.. this will teach them about .ca names..
time will tell.. it's a numbers game and of course control..

I 'think' were to different people? why?

I guess there's only a handfull full of smart webmasters that hold .ca names and I just notice that some other webmasters are interested in them? sorry I'll play in another sand box/thread.

First off, the USA have a 300 million population and Canada have 30 million.

Personally I don't see many people in the US interested in .US domains and I don't see many in Canada interested in .CA domains.

Well, lets see your list of .ca names then. I'm always looking to buy, there are tons of Canadians on here too, let's hear about these phat deals and thumb through your 5 figure collection.

Or are you on here to tease us and keep these fantabulous domains a secret?

there's a difference here though , how many commercials and ads do you see on tv/magazines or print media for domains with a .us extension? none probably, and thats the difference canada is canada and canadian corps/biz etc have embraced the .ca , the US market grew up on .Com and I dont think thats ever gonna change ,agreed .ca is never gonna beat a .com but 50m canadians is still a significant market, thats just gonna grow, its gonna take a whiile sure, but it'll come..

as far as type ins go these domains do get em/not sure exactly on the numbers, theyre not pumping thasts for sure,if your looking for strong heavy type ins invest your money into .coms, if you want a good foothold into the canadian market grab these,
