![]() There are these companies that I can't figure out how they're in business. Affiliate programs whose sites that I never come across in my everyday websurfing, and if I wasn't in this industry I wouldn't even know they exist, yet somehow they make money from somewhere. But I never see their sites advertised anywhere, not on TGPs, not on free sites, not on search engine listings, not on AdWords, not on sex.com listings, not spam in my email....nowhere! I assume they're making money from somewhere (but I could be wrong) because they're buying banners on webmaster sites like GFY, they have employees, they have parties at conventions, etc...
I'm aware of these companies and their sites because I work in this industry, but as a surfer I've never once come across their sites over the years. Have you ever noticed that?

What companies are you talking about? I notice the same thing, but often I find they are companies that doesn't have a presence in the traffic arenas that I work in, but they'll be strong in other ones which I'm not familiar with.
