I seriously need some work.

Im in a huge dilemna and i'm about to be evicted from my apartment, i have even been able to open my utility bills from last month. To top it off my car was vandalized. Passenger was window smash and along with some personal items they stole my parking pass. Then my car got towed and stayed at the tow over the weekend while i was visiting family for christmas. I came home to a $400 bill for them to keep my car over the weekend. They want to auction my car since i cant pay it.

There must be somebody who likes my work and needs a design
I have some very good references who have appreciated my work in the past.
is the design market really that saturated? Get some new designs for whatever you need, i'll do descriptions, blogs, hell ill cut your toenails for you. Just give me a chance to give you more than your moneys worth.

I know im not the best designer on the block but i will work my ass off to make you happy.

Please email me at [email protected]
[email protected] seems to be faster lately
29971761

My skills arent limited to just design, if you have any kind of odd jobs please, please, please contact me.

I'm not too proud to beg, thanks for reading my crap

I wish you the best of luck. I am find it increasingly hard to charge what I want to charge for web work. Even though I am canadian I wasth enough CNN and see it happen on the internet first hand. All this out sourcing to other countries is hurting us all. I can still find work but unfortunately all those people who think they should be getting websites done for next to nothing are happy when they find places that do out sourcing for cheap.

Im looking for a full time job, i have no car so i'm looking around the ghetto neighborhood, not a lot of jobs around but i got a lot of applications in. Really want a tech job if im not going to work out of my home office but beggers cant be choosers. If i have to work at Target or Kmart i'll do it if they hire me.

I need something i can do for the moment to get my car back and maybe make some rent and bills before im completely sol and out on the street. If theres no work around thats just how it goes.

Also the Internet Technology market is one of the worst markets to try to find work in. there is more ITer's looking for work then there is work. Honestly do yout tech work in the spare time but spend all day and all night looking for a regular job in the mean while.

Thanks for your advice, i know about the tech market, just happens to be all i have training for besides like customer service or something like that.

Im not limited to designing, setting up scripts, making freesites and submitting them.

Would be great if i could find someone willing to partner skills for long term projects becuase as you said work comes and goes here.

I grew up in the time when barely any one had training in websites and internet technology. The good designers were us guys who were isolated in our rooms doing nothing but coding.

Now it seems like every preschool overs the basic html training.

Thatnks to out sourcing and the canadian and american school systems we are all poor poor buggers with lack of work and too much time to spend on forums.

Not all that many careers that interested me. i like getting paid for something i enjoy doing. Previously became stubborn to do anything else while the economy dropped and dropped and people started getting laid off. Now its like i dont care what i have to do just pay me.

Not the best possible way to describe yourself. Advice, learn a trade. IT is the worst possible place to be jobless jetsam in the year 2004. Young guys can make a good living doing electrical, plumbing or other trade work. And, you will never have to compete with Indian labor!

Did you have car insurance?
If so, call them about the smash-n-grab and the towing because your parking pass was stolen. They should be the ones stuck with the bill.

Also go down IN PERSON and talk to the owner of the towing company. Offer to make them a website for free in exchange for clearing your bill. (Call first and ask whoever answers the phone if they have a website and what the URL is if they do.)
If they've got one already, offer to redo it and make it better with a year's worth of updates.
If he doesn't go for that, tell him you'll come down and work (either part-time or full-time, up to you) detailing the cars they *do* send to auction so they can get a higher price for them. Easy work, just clean the cars out, vacumn them and wipe everything clean but it's busy work that they usually don't have time to do.

Bartering *is* alive and well and if you talk to the owner in person and show him you're willing to work to pay off your bill he'll probably give you a shot.

Thats a good idea, but actually i already cussed them out. They are real scumbags. It's almost like a chop shop at that place. I cant believe they charge $150 a day on the wekends to keep your car, $80 on normal days, just fucking incredible.

Wow..

I think there are probebly at least 2-6 people asking for work in a given week on here, and they are ALL "designers"

For all of you broke ass designers, I want you to know, that being a "designer" is a dime a dozen. UNLESS you are AMAZING! in which case, you wont be broke. I suggest going back to school, and getting a skill.

If I were you, I'd go to every temp agency in town (take the bus!) and sign up and take whatever was available. Also, try not to get evicted, move in with family if you have to. Once you're stable again, get back into the porn biz.

I'm sorry to hear of your troubles.

I would suggest that you check your local yellow pages for
work today get paid today temp services.

You show up and they put you to work and pay you at days end.

Carrie offered up some of the best advice I've seen in a long time.

Good luck!!

Bro - you better start scoping out some of your local shelters.

Unless you're an established designer with somewhat of a reputation for doing good work and consistent work for people then you're pretty much fucked. We needed some free lance designers to help with the holiday party rush so I posted a thread requesting freelance graphic designers. I came to work the next morning and I thought someone fucking email bombed me!!!

If you don't have a college degree then get a job waiting tables or something. And then pursue a job as a designer on your off time. That way you'll at least have some sort of positive income and not in the mess you're in now.

Also if you believe in your own gallery-making skills, then get chameleon submitter (they've got a month-by-month option now) and start submitting.
You could even do it for a sponsor that pays immediately via epassporte - Flashcash comes to mind but I think there might be others.
(Note - I don't promote Flashcash myself so I don't know how they convert, I just know you can withdraw the money the instant someone signs up.)

The trick to getting jobs off GFY is pretty simple -- find out what people want *first*. I've done admin & graphics jobs off GFY in the last week. Just keep an eye open.

Thats not entirely true. People with skills can find work. People who are out of work for more than, say, 6 months, have issues. Speaking as a hiring manager...

problem is that every fucking no talent ass clown decided they wanted an mcse in 99-00, and all those stupid fucks who started companies with no products are still out there....flooding companies with resumes....

I have some work right now and when it's all said and done i'll try and get him to come here and post here how our communication went. Its a major strong point. I never flake and on every project i've taken i've been ahead of the time i said it may take me.

There are other people who visit these boards who i've done work for, hopefully they can pop in here and back me up.

Hey dude, sorry to hear what's going on ... the problem on the internet (like many people said before) is that there just isn't enough work...at least in design. Everyone and their mother can design now which really sucks because I used to make a killing on it. Also, it's so cheap to go to outside the US, Canada or UK and get it done...If you're like me and don't want a job, specialize in something, for example, I specialize in php...i'm gettinga pretty big list of customers, because i code fast. Do you do any programming? Like people have said before, find out what people want on here, and what they're willing to pay...server admin work is always abundent on here...so broaden your customer base, and you'll do decent justt off of repeat customers!
Just my 10 cents...

While you're still Chapter7 and not Chapter11 ( joke ) I suggest you take advantage of your designing skills.

There are ppl making some serious money using GallerySubmitter.com - like someone else said, use FlashCash to get paid immediately via epassporte.

Best part is, GallerySubmitter.com is FREE to use when you promote FlashCash - so forget about ChamaleonSubmitter; your results will be just as good, if not better, with GallerySubmitter.com

Hate to come in as thread spammer - but you you could be making money tomorrow man, and collect str8 from the ATM machine...

If you want free hosting, try xreatedcities.com ; use your own domain as well plus get servers stats!

It really isn't that hard to make some serious cash

Best of luck, man!

Thanks for the advice advante and broda. I do the TGP thing but its just not doing what it used to. When i get back on my feet i'll look to take some kind of PHP course or by a book and teach myself. Things will get better for me, starting to not look so bad recently.
