I'm going with this philosphy. Whatever the Universe is really all about, I'm not going to be able to ever figure it out, nor is anyone else, and it doesn't seem like its meant to be figured out anyway, so why struggle with it. Its too vast and staggering in its dimensions and scope and trying to think it out overload's your mind's circuits every time without fail.

I often look up into the sky, gaze out over the ocean watching a beautiful sunrise and just say thank you whoever you are or whatever this is for all the beautiful things in the world my eyes can see and enjoy. I will do all I can to build and enhance the beauty, serenity and peacefulness during my short stay here.

I believe in keeping things simple and this strategy works in that respect.

I do not feel obliged to believe that the same God who has endowed us with sense, reason, and intellect has intended us to forgo their use.

Science in what period of time. Science 500 years ago had the the Sun rotating around a flat earth for christ's sake.

Relativity only states that the MEASURED velocity of light is the same for all observers . If the universe had edges , nothing in GR would limit their velocity.
Anyways , the standard model of the "big bang" does not demand that the universe has edges or a center .

Ever heard of Stephen Hawking? Know why he's so famous? Because he proved the "big bang" theory using Einstein's theory or relativity. If you believe in the validity of mathematics and physics, then the "big bang" is fact. :)

The bottom line is its all beyond our comprehension. No one knows for sure what its all about out there. If there are hidden dimensions. Other planes of reality. Who the fuck really knows?

Anyone who says they got the entire Universe all figured out including Steven Hawking is full of themselves.

That's an ignorant bottom line for you to make up. Just because you think it's beyond your comprehension, doesn't mean it's beyond the comprehension of people who have actually studied the subject for the greater part of their lives.
It's not just a "simplistic concept" that someone made up when he was bored. There is a lot of evidence (despite what you want to believe) that backs it up. Also, I believe the big bang also states that time and space are part of the universe, so neither was present until the universe was created.
That doesn't seem very odd to me; writing about an eternity of everlasting life would be an easy way to make people feel good and happy about their religion. It would be much more convincing than telling people when they die they are gone for good.
