you have no clue how to prepare your own food or you wouldn't be eating there.

now don't give us the bullshit about being too busy
you only get in deeper with that one.

it takes time to drive there and back.

Actually, I can cook very well, and no, I don't have time to do it most of the time. It takes me over 1 hour to cook a decent meal and clean up and if I buy prepared food I can work while my husband goes out for it (and it only takes him 15-30 minutes to go get it, not an hour). :P

I took time out to cook a huge Thanksgiving dinner. Took me about 8 hours, plus cleanup time. Christmas dinner took a little less time, but still took several hours. And New Year's dinner took 3 hours. That's enough cooking for me for a while when I have to work full time! LOL

McDonalds has the best french fries on the planet. Nothing comes close. I go there often and my son likes it too.

When I worked at Mcd's when I was 15 I saw the General Mangers pay check. I figured out she was making at least 50k a yr. Once you get up in the ranks there they pay well.

"Would you like fries with that?"

We look down at people who work fast food because we damn well know they can't get a job any place else. I'm sure even the guy who puts my newspaper in my driveway makes more than fast food employees.

Oh, and just to elaborate, I NEVER put down the workers, even when they DO get my order wrong, and we always tip well at restaurants where that is customary. I show them respect and I do understand it is a difficult job. I worked fast food for several years, myself. But in about 5 years of working fast food I got maybe 2 orders wrong. It just drives me crazy that we have to double check their work every time because it happens soooo often. :(
Tootie, in the post directly above that you just called most of them losers. :1orglaugh

My opinion? Vast majority of them are students. Their schedules are hectic, school, working, homework and somewhere in there they try to have a social life. Most of them live off a couple/few hours sleep. Yep, they screw up, but then again, so does everyone else I know, no matter what the job, how much education they have, or how much they get paid.

Anyone willing to do the grunge work with little pay and crappy hours deserves my respect. My personal experience with McD's has been good, one screw up in the past 30 visits or so.

I respect anyone that serves me food.. :glugglug

Just to let you know, if you wanna open your own McDonalds you have to first work behind the counter. So the VERY OCCASIONAL worker maybe one day the owner....

Mr. Marks 01-03-2004 09:59 PM

In California, too many of these guys are Mexicans who can't speak english properly. Oh well... better to deal with this shit than have to pay $1 per burger I guess

Yeah, even our colleges must suck, because about 60% of the time the managers don't even keep their restaurants stocked.

I mean, LITERALLY 6 out of 10 times I send my husband out for food they are "out" of whatever I want. Example: He went to Church's Chicken this weekend and they were totally out of breasts. WTF? How does a chicken restaurant run completely out of breasts? And if some bizarre order for 600 chicken breasts for a party comes in on short notice, then why don't they either close down or have the decency to put it on their sign so people don't have to wait in the drive thru behind 8 other cars for 20 minutes only to find out they don't even have their main food item? I can't tell you how many times restaurants are out of what I want. It's ridiculous. I can understand it happening occasionally, but there comes a time when you just lose faith in the intelligence of a majority of Americans. :(

Never put a fast food worker down in my life?it is a job.

Never understood why parents think fast food is a substitute for a nutritional meal since they are working. Damn I love the fries at MacD but if a worker f-up on our order or ran out of food, I doubt if I would complain about the efficiency of a worker or management. The kids I raised knew the difference of a fast food meal and a home cooked meal. :)
