CF Memory Card Slow as fock! Help anyone?

My roommate has pretty much the same computer as I do.

    However,

When i plug in my USB Compact Flash card reader, it'll pop up the device and i'll go to view the images on the card and its slow...like....to the point of where it'll time out if i try to even download one image off the card.

Seems like a driver issue, but I don't know which or how i would go about fixing it.

    Running XP Pro w/ SP1

Crucial.com memory card reader with Crucial 256MB Card.

    Any suggestions?

    Works fine at work.
    -Josh

Wrong forum. This isn't Crucial Support Forums.

Move on to MMC or SD.

Funny. They don't have their own support forum.

Statistically, 99% of the problems people have with computers are user error.

It's actually the nature of the beast..the usb port connection.
I use a connection from the usb port to my Canon Powershot directly and get a very fast download that way. Your camera doesn't have this option? If it does, strongly suggest going that route..I ended up putting my flash card reader in storage.

Hmm haha...I must be doing something wrong then

Step 1: insert memory card into memory card reader.

Step 2: Plug memory card reader into USB port.

Step 3: Download pics of the removable disk drive

*error: timing out while downloading pics.

                    Some user error huh?

I wish, i use the Fuji S1 Pro DSLR, i'm sure i could if I had the cord to plug it in, but I don't.

I've never had a problem up until now cus i've always done my images at the office and not at home.

                      Until now.
