And THAT... is why I said "very hard" rather than "impossible" to get maturity from a 22 yr old. There are exceptions, and I left the door open for that. However, if what you are saying is true, then you are an exceptional 23 yr old. Of course supporting yourself doesn't necessarily speak to your maturity as far as how to treat the woman in your life.

In this case, a real man would have picked up Angeleyes and taken her along to his family Christmas, in spite of his mother's attitude. A real man would have made it clear to mommy that Angel was his woman and that's that. Period. At the first sign of trouble, a real man would have left with Angel and left his mommy standing there feeling stupid for opening her mouth. A real man knows that mommy comes first as long as mommy knows how to be respectful of his choice in a girlfriend.

Jenn believed what he had to say and didn't let age be a factor. If you are getting in a relationship with someone there has to be a level of trust and that is what she gave him. As you know there is always a certain amount of unknown when entering into a new relationship... I wouldn't call Jenn an idiot for taking a chance on someone she thought there could be a relationship with just the wrong person.

Understandable. I know not being on your own doesn't makes you mature but it helps the cause of growing up. I have never had a helping hand I guess what I'm saying. There are people 35 that don't know how to treat women. If a woman is special you give her your all. Though for me it takes alot for me to feel that way towards a woman. I agree a real man would have done what you said and if his intentions arn't true to her he should have atleast been honest.

There is a difference between caring more about his family and being an owned momma's boy. Mommie didn't like Jenn because she was older than him. So instead of listening to what he might have wanted, he sided with mommie. I guess he didn't want to get kicked out of the house.

About this I know two other things...... 1) I understood that back then my mom wasn't always thrilled with the girls I brought home either, BUT.... 2) she had enough respect for me that she treated them properly and with kindness.


It seems to me that respect is something sorely lacking in the case of this guy and his mother. Standing someone as nice as Angel up on Christmas shows it right there.

I never understood the attraction to little boys. When I was 16, I was into 25-30 year old guys.
