I disagree. I am 23 years old and have supported myself since I was 16 years old. I am very mature, true I have been through things by the time I was 14 that most people havn't that raised me faster but don't generalize everyone. I have seen 30+ people on this board that act less mature then 12 year olds.

However, if what you are saying is true, then you are an exceptional 23 yr old. Of course supporting yourself doesn't necessarily speak to your maturity as far as how to treat the woman in your life.

In this case, a real man would have picked up Angeleyes and taken her along to his family Christmas, in spite of his mother's attitude. A real man would have made it clear to mommy that Angel was his woman and that's that. Period. At the first sign of trouble, a real man would have left with Angel and left his mommy standing there feeling stupid for opening her mouth. A real man knows that mommy comes first as long as mommy knows how to be respectful of his choice in a girlfriend.

Understandable. I know not being on your own doesn't makes you mature but it helps the cause of growing up. I have never had a helping hand I guess what I'm saying. There is a difference between caring more about his family and being an owned momma's boy. Mommie didn't like Jenn because she was older than him. So instead of listening to what he might have wanted, he sided with mommie. I guess he didn't want to get kicked out of the house.

About this I know two other things...... 1) I understood that back then my mom wasn't always thrilled with the girls I brought home either, BUT.... 2) she had enough respect for me that she treated them properly and with kindness.
