Paxil is hard to snort , Effexor is easier to grind up and snort

Hey Juicy-
Effexor is a great med. I used to sell it when I was a pharma rep. It works on both serotonin and norepinephrin so it has a more robust affect. The XR version is better than regular effexor though. You can have some initial side effects ie nausea/dizziness but that should subside after a week or two. Good Luck!

I've been on it for 2 years. Makes me a very dosile motherfucker. It takes a LOT of energy for me to do anything. I sleep a lot more than a normal person and I am generally very melancholy.

I'm looking into going off of all meds completely, I don't need them anymore.

ive been on effexor for about 10 years now. the only time it makes me dizzy is if i forget to take it for a day. other than that i dont have any problems with it at all. taking one pill a day doesnt bother me in the least. as long as it keeps me normal, ill take it until i die.

Hmmm, see it usually takes 2 days to catch up to me. When I was on like 225mg if I forgot to take it at the right time I would end up basically paralized with a massive headache, and in bed for 2 days at least.

I went to a Neuro Dr for extreme headaches afetr dealing with them for almost a year. I was up to a point of taking up to 12 asprins a day and they didn't even work. I got my headaches--migranes every single day.

I went cold turkey stopping all medications and dealt with the pain except for effexor which he started me on. He had me starting on 1 pill 75mg then 2 in 2 weeks than 3 after 1 month.
After 1 month my headaches went away forever. I get them at the most once a month and only when I am drinking heavily. After a few months I went down to 2 pills a day and after a couple more months 1 pill a day and that dose for the past couple of years. It is now kind of a daily maintenace. If I forget to take it I feel dizzy and withdrawn. I have been on it for 2-3 years and have been headache free.

The shit works. They should hire me to do commercials for them.

Quite honestly, never heard of the drug before. An anti-depressant I take it?

Oh, a friend of mine went and had the old botox done. She loved it for a couple of reasons..and one of them was it got rid of her headaches! She didn't have one headache the entire time the stuff was working. When it wore off, she got these terrible sinus headaches back, so she went back for another treatment of botox and again the headaches went away. The doctor told her that a lot of his patients had reported the same thing for headaches.

So..maybe for those of you suffering headaches, here's a twofer:
get rid of some wrinkles & headaches at the same time!

My Doctor tried to give it to me and I just kept chucking the samples into a box and didn't take them so I have about a years worth if you want me to ship them to you.

On a side note: A friend of mine is on it that was taken of of Paxil and he seems to be doing much better... Goodluck

I had heard there were some major sexual side effects for guys.
Know of one friend that stopped taking anti-depressants for that very reason.

Effexor isn't a light antidressant. It is seen as the 'antidepressant' of last resort often. There isn't as much known about it as with other antidepressants. It has bad side effects going onto it, if you miss doses, go off of it suddenly, or simply go off of it normially. For 3 weeks going onto it, it felt like my head was trying to explode constantly and no pain killers got rid of the pressure and pain.

When I quit taking it, I was dizzy a lot, and it hurt my head to see any light.

I had that same problem when I was on it last year, I would wake up and be dizzy as fuck and sometimes I would puke. I went off it a couple weeks later and I am on a couple other ones now. Slowing going off one of them though.

Antidepressants are mean motherfuckers. Makes you wonder what the point is sometimes. They're trying to cure these crazy bastards by giving them drugs that piss them off and make them sick?

Maybe that's the point, numb us down until we don't have the energy to be fucked up.

But in all honesty... once you're on it, if you take it on time and follow the rules you're safe.

Didn't think there were that many people on meds here. Anyhow my hubby takes Effexor XR and he had major headaches and bright lights used to bother him. Now it's just the fatigue that bothers him so he wants to come off it totally. The doctor mentioned that the fatigue and drowsiness is your body needing to recuperate it's energy. Anyhow, it's not very fun coming off it. & most importantly, don't go 24hrs without it....when it starts wearing off.....your mood and body start showing signs. Good luck.
