That's what I call support

Greetings,

Approximately 22 Minutes ago at 11:15 AM PST (19:15:56 UTC) a 6.5 Magnitude earthquake struck Central California. The earthquake epicenter was approximately 195 km (121 miles) SSE (158°) from the Jupiter Hosting Data Center.

Here is what we know:

- Minimal movement in our facility was felt by staff.

- All customer systems are up and functioning normally.

- The Jupiter Neework Backbone and all upstream providers are showing GREEN. No loss in carrier service is being experienced.

- Facility staff are conducting a visual inspection of all critical facility components. We are electronically monitoring for any facility issues as well. Full facility inspection should be complete within the next hour.

Best Regards,

Support

Support can hardly be measured in an email that addresses a problem that did not occur in the first place.

If people wanted to know if their shit was still up, they could have simply typed in their own domain.

Real suppot is not talked about, it's shown if and when the shit really does hit the fan.

AaronM,

I would like to think it is both.

The fact is, customers were concerned as many do not know exactly where we are located. Sending out an e-mail helps elevate any feelings of fear.

I commend you for the email. I just don't consider it support. It's more PR than anything else.

Point is not being up, being reachable... You can reach your domain and assume it's up but other half of the net might not depending on the routes.

Anyway, they are also great with "occured problems" so I don't have any problems with my thread title..
