Yeah that's fucked up... if it was well enough to be squirming around then it was probably well enough not to be put down.

Sometimes the owner likes to hold the pet as it dies, to comfort it or whatever.

it must take like 3 seconds to inject something you'd think the vet would have stopped as soon as he/she first pricked him

-*- You would think . But then again people are wierd Maybe the owner was in shock or something. It didnt give many details, I was more concerned with if they ended up killing the dog after or did they let it live. * and yes usually when you put your dog to sleep they have you hold it while it dies.

I cut a 3 inch gap in my hand once and didnt notice for about 5 minutes.

Saw this story once about a guy who got in a traffic altercation and the guy bit off his ear, but he didnt notice till he got home, and he had to go back and try and find his ear. * i never heard the end of that one either, not sure if he got his ear back or went earless.
