I'm glad the Players Ball is in a bar where they screen their age.

Nick Tukhman sponsored a Players Ball once and couldn't even get into the venue because he wasn't 21 yet.

Thanks buddy.

Last year when I was in Vegas I drank a lot of alcohol at the parties and some dinners I was invited to. I didn't get into one particular party coz I was only 19 and also asked to leave the casino bard once or twice. Anytime I was drunk tho I believe I acted responsibly and gave out a good impression of myself. Aaron obviously thinks so as well since I was partying with him.

Reason I am not coming this year is coz I don't see too many parties and I won't be able to attend the players ball or the poker tournament which I was invited to since I am still only 20 years old. In June I turn 21 and I will be at ALL the conventions.

I still owe Aaron lunch :)

And what are your credentials?
Thing is Bradshaw... I don't have to list them on a public forum to feel good about myself.

However, the day you catch up I will start showing you the respect you long for.

TurboAngel 12-18-2003 05:29 PM

Glad I'm 21!

Very good point

This is going to make me very unpopular lol but why do adult webmaster get togethers have to be drink fests. I have to tell you no matter what kind of background or experience a person has, seeing some pic of them so fucked up they have lost control or doing something really stupid. I could never take them serious. This is a business convention not some party at a friends house. One of the reasons we don?t go to the shows is the thought of being one of the few sober people a room or a building doesn?t appeal to me. As far as people under 21 , if they are there to do business be on the convention floor and do business, go to dinner and do business. If liquor is served at a party they shouldn?t be there, the party gets busted it shows bad on all of us and we all know how the media could run with a story like that.

There is a reason that my email box is stuffed full iof private party invites for Internext. While everybody posts their concerns of the lack of parties...I am trying to figure out how to hit all the ones I have been invited to.

Does that make me any better than the rest of you? No....But it does say something about my public image.

So are you coming to my private sausage party or not? Please RSVP! Baby oil and butt plugs are complimentary!

However, that being said... I don't know why webmastres can't have more dinners... more actual conventions that don't include drinking. You know? Events that everyone can attend regardless of age or drinking/partying habits.

It seems as if every single webmaster get together has to be a mind blowing party. After 13+ in a year, it starts getting kinda old for everyone, except for the under age webmasters who can't attend a single one.

ditto :thumbsup Your so smart!

I think that AdultCentro is coming out this Internext.......or maybe the next one, or the next one??!?!?!!?!?

Gemini 12-18-2003 07:13 PM

Anyone under 21 whining...run upstairs and smack your parents for the law saying 21... we petitioned and got the drinking age etc lowered to 18 wayyy back... your parents generation couldn't hold their booze and the various states raised it back to 21.

Petition your government reps if you don't like the law. Good luck tho... you'd be 40 before they even consider it. :Graucho

Okay so who can get good fake ID's.

Gemini 12-18-2003 08:15 PM

fake ID's...

Another byproduct of Bushs homeland security... one of those could get a view of the bay in Cuba. lol

IMHO...

There are webmasters who are well over 21 that are not mature enough to handle this. However, underage drinking is always a problem and that opens the event sponsors and the venues up to legal problems. The majority of the problems that I have seen from those under 21 are isolated to people from the U.S. It would seem that the minors in our country are not advanced enough to know how to act appropriately. I have underage friends from Scotland who come to these things and they manage to maintain control and act like adults.

Putting the drinking issue aside?.Vegas is a gambling town with a 21 years of age requirement for that. Minors are not even permitted to stand and watch. With the sponsors stepping down their parties this year....This is going to leave fewer and fewer places for minors to hang out without forcing them into public places and increasing the risk of bad publicity.

Your thoughts?

Depends where you come from . I started drinking when I was like 14 in a religious party . People don't c are about alchool in canada and don't get offended . At 18 most people know how to drink . Actually Ontarians suck ass and they don't know how to drink at 18 but most quebekers do. So who cares .

Agreed . Webmasters are people that don't know jack shit about life and that never drink cauz they can't move their phat ass out of their crib . 10 % of them fucked more than 15 girls in their life . A webmaster party = weak :P

dude, the State decides the legal age to drink or gamble, not the adult industry. It not like 21+ webmasters are making up the rules

bhutocracy 12-18-2003 10:52 PM

I still can't believe people in the states have to be 21 to drink or gamble.. crazy.

Ash@phpFX 12-18-2003 11:06 PM

The US should get in line with the rest of the world. 18 is adult, no restrictions on drinking and gambling. :glugglug

And you should upgrade to the metric system while you're at it

Sly_RJ 12-18-2003 11:32 PM

Nobody under 21 should be allowed! Oh, damn...

I will say though that I'm a little pissed I won't be able to go to the San Diego show this June because I'm not old enough. Lame. If I'm old enough to make a living in this industry, I should be old enough to attend industry events.

well said, i wouldnt spend $1000 on a trip to vegas to party and get drunk with a bunch of webmasters. Some people go because they plan on expanding business, meeting some of the people they deal with and developing new relations...

if your old enough to spend the money to go for business you shouldnt be kept out of the parties, you should be kept away from the alcohol because its the law....

Hey I like to have a few drinks, but it's hard to do business when the people you are talking to are so shit-faced that 30 minutes later they can't remember even meeting you .

If you are under-21 and are coming to the show to do BUSINESS, you can meet lots of people during the day (while they are still sober) or go to dinners, etc.

If you just want to get drunk and party, you don't need to come to Vegas for that.
