Why do Asian's eat dogs?

I don't understand why they do this.

I just saw this on Yahoo news.

This is what the caption says:

"A chef prepares to carve a dog carcass. Taiwan's parliament has banned the selling of dog meat in an effort to deter the slaughtering of strays, a lawmaker's aide said.(AFP/File/Goh Chai Hin) "

How narrow minded are you? Can't you grasp that there are different cultures that have different traditions and way of living?

Why are "we" eating cows? In other countries (like India) they are holy.

I've tried grasshopper, nothing to it and just taste of the oil it's cooked in, but fuck anything else....

I've eaten kangaroo. Seems to surprise americans. Who cares if they eat dogs? It's just another source of meat. And from what i hear, an all too common source of meat around there.

Yup that is true. Studies show pigs are the most intelligent of all farm animals and have intelligence equal to or higher than dogs.

The only reason is because pigs are fat, ugly, roll around in mud, and eat anything and everything, which don't make them great pets. However doesn't mean they are not smart. I'm sure some farmers somewhere has them as pets.

few "asian" countries eat dog meat, they do in Korea, Taiwan and China/HK, not sure about some of the others!
funny that when one asian country does something we don't understand or agree with we blame the whole asian race and not just that country.

more disturbing to me is how ppl are starving and dieing on the streets of india while there are healthy fat cows running around
everywhere!

in china mainland they eat some strange stuff. i wouldnt touch dog or cat ect. ive tried snake soup and pigeon and thats the furthest i'd go.
